Replied many thanks. Slight hijack, I didn’t realise there was a PM function, is there a way to set it so I get notified of any PM?

No reason why you can’t put a disc on the front is there? Doesn’t make it much easier to source a fork though.

If it helps, my stumpjumper of similar vintage rides really well with a 100 mm fork.

Disaster, I ordered 2 (one of each colour) but they’re only sending 1, it’s likely to cause problems between my daughter and my niece. If anyone has an extra one they don’t need, any colour, could you let me know as I’d be very happy to take it off your hands.

    Many thanks

As long as you don’t go bb30 or get involved in boost, anything will work with your frame. Although you’ll have to ensure your bb and chainset match.

If you don’t want to change chainset you’ll need an isis bottom bracket.

Q factor should be unaffected, as its governed by the axle length.

I’ve seen a few people drill tt bars for internal routing. I never did it as it was such a pain, heat shrink or a roll of electric tape is just as effective, but not as pretty.

Is it square taper? If so need a longer axle length

Get a narrow wide, superstar are ridiculously good value in my experience, I rarely put my clutch on as it causes way too much resistance for the shift

I wouldn’t be able to carry it off, but Adam seems able to.

I had the same experience as coomber and i tried loads incl Tektro and some Raleigh ones. Those pinnacle/hoy ones look spotty dog though

Quite often I find a new headset is cheaper and less hassle, even before 3 failed attempts at getting the right bearing.

There’s plenty of YouTube videos available showing you how to repair them. I’ve not done it but a previous thread suggests it’s pretty easy to do.

Could we see Alonso in red after Monaco/indy 500?

I love Kimi but it’s probably time to go, he can’t keep getting away with only putting the effort in at contract time.

Not sure they made 6 speed cassettes. It’s probably a screw on.
I don’t know if you can swap a 6 speed for 7 speed screw on so you’ll prob need a new hub or wheel.

I just bought a boardman hybrid comp from halfords. 20% off at the moment on old stock with addl 10% for BC etc.

It’s a little heavy but i’m impressed with the spec and value full price. With discount added it’s even better.

I clamp the seatpost, I’m of the view that a frame wasn’t designed to take the forces at that point. A seatpost is shorter so likely to be more capable to taking the force. Also it’s cheaper to replace a seatpost if i overclamp.

I suspect the cable just need tensioning. But as above do it properly, there is a great guide on the park tool website.

Hmm, looking again, the wiggle lifeline one looks the same as the CRC brand X one.

Agree with Eddie11. Hydro would be great, but mechanical? I’m not even sure why they are running tektro and not shimano mechanical brakes. Either way I bet the riders hate them.

Cav’s front tyre certainly looks flat in that pic, that’s pretty impressive riding, if slightly dangerous

Just downloaded the ghost racer app, will see if that helps. I’ve also got a Garmin forerunner from eBay for not much money.

    Many thanks all

Should have said the problem is the GPS on my phone is really inaccurate.

Lezyne looks spot on, anyone know it it will be happy in my pocket for running or will bouncing it about accidentally press buttons?

Don’t bother with the chain guide unless you’re really gnarly.

I rarely put the clutch on with mine and they are fine with n/w.

Should have said, cheap and small and easy to use would be a bonus.

Take it back to the shop.youll never get it true and dished without a proper jig.

in that case, at less than £20 for the older one, its worth a punt. I’m running a 40tooth on my pro 6 with a 12-25 cassette which is fine for the south downs and my road commute (with 40mm Nanos).

It may not be quick enough on the road though.

I’d try a single ring, works great on my do it all bike in 40tooth. The (older) superstar ones are great (I’ve not used the raptor) and if you wait for the inevitable voucher code much cheaper than the £50 you have budgeted for.

I got the feeling Button would take the retainer on the premise that it would be extremely unlikely he would ever need to get back in a mchonda (or any other F1 car) – just show up at a few events and look dashing.

I bet he’s hoping Alonso really doesn’t go to Merc

Or ring your local auto glass centre and ask which is the cheapest window to replace

In that case I’d go with the trolley jacks as above.

Additional parts required to complete the bike build.
    Rim tape x 2
    Outer gear cable
    Gear Ferrules
    Hydraulic cable, olives and barbs.
As these bikes are shipped unassembled you will require certain bike tools to complete assembly. An allen key set, BB wrench, torque wrench, cassette lockring tool, headset press, hacksaw and fork cutting guide, chain tool/pliers and cable cutters should be considered an absolute minimum.

The other bits are easy enough to source, but how easy is it to buy the right Hydraulic hose, olives and barbs?

damn it, I just had an email from Halfords with an extra 10% discount code. need to read the terms and conditions, wonder if I can add it to my BC discount too?
