well the first cycleworld etape warm up weekend is up this weekend…

were doing 2 rides,saturday (harder) and sunday..ive got lunch planned either day,ride briefing each morning,goodie bags,energy product deals,unconfirmed physios on the saturday back at the shop doing warm down massages,full support including mechs/broom wagon/first aiders…its all looking good so far!

weve got about 35 ish riders but if your wanting to come either day get in touch as weve still got space to accomodate…lets hope its sunny(the forecast is looking great! :lol:)

Own two bikeshops in the east of Scotland…thinking about a new direction possibly.anyone want to buy a bikeshop?

I was gonna go as a stall holder but the cost was a bit prohibitive.a few of my suppliers were interested if we shared the cost but they also thought it was dear… It may have more industry types next year.I hope it grows and gets bigger!

brown the shanks,cube/chop everything else and cook for 8ish hours….reduce the stock and whisk in butter for a nice rich gravy.i usually re-roast the bones and add more wine to make a richer gravy which i then freeze into little pots 😛

Thats the thing I don’t think they are..the retired guys seem content but the pressure to not blow it all and keep what you’ve got must be an issue…they’ve done some great things but so have I on a shoestring… We all strive for more wealth but being happy I think is a better goal..

my missus is a very slim(races bikes) trainee nurse and she is by far the slimmest thing in her ward…she gets quite miffed by alot of thinnest comments shes gets whilst they all tuck into unhealthy lunches/dinners etc..

the problem here is the vast majority on here doesnt use/respect/like/understand the lbs( i think this was illustrated by the length of the crc security thread)

true we’re all business’s but not in the enormous turnover/profit league of most of the companies that you lot buy off…

i try and get involved in all sorts of local community intiatives,donate far too much to charitable causes(local ones mainly) chair the local trails association,take cycling proffiency…i dont do all these things just with the mind that it will increase business.(it generally doesnt!) i do it because im self-employed and have the time/inclination…

ive read all the japan threads and theyre seems to be a lot of selfish attitudes…at least mark is doing something active/altruistic whilst some are worried about possible price rises of shimano??

ive heard from various sources within the trade that theyre turnover is more like £120 million currently…may increase theyre profit a bit

any of you are welcome to some free lbs time and see what the affect of crc is on my trade…… 🙂
