Okey doke. Hope you keep your job. Much more important than bike bits!! Oh, and sorry this thread turned into a sales pitch. I only mentioned we had stock because your man up there said nowhere had them.

They’re much more like the Shimano lever shape. I’ve never used Juicys so couldn’t say. They’re broader than a Hope lever, that’s for sure. Quite short too, which I like as I 1-finger brake so didn’t end up running them miles inboard to get them into a good position.

Rotors-wise, we’ve got some 180mm louise rotors which I’m sure we could switch onto them for you.

    404 – £49 per brake.

They’re a very different brake this year, with a proper high pressure system instead of the old low pressure HS33 hosing. There’s a photo here[/url], and we’ve got plenty of stock if you’re after some and other people are out. FWIW I thought the lever was pretty comfy; quite broad.

SKF would be worth a try. Their ISIS one’s are great.

I’ve got some 465mm Bontrager forks on one of my Souls. Works really nicely handling-wise, as I always find 440mm forks a bit short for my liking. With sus forks I run 100mm forks pretty stiff, and I’ve currently got 120mm forks on, and forks like these are between 450 and 470 at ride height, so longer rigids made sense.

24/12 is an ace way to start that kind of racing exactly because you can do the 12hr. SITS and Mayhem are the full 24 only. I actually though 24/12 was a much more chilled event that the Mayhem’s I’ve been to recently.

Is it ethical to keep on 1200 staff you could potentially do without from loss making stores thereby putting the entire business and the whole workforce at risk? Discuss.

I found the different between QR and 20mm Fighters to be quite big when I used them. We’ve got some RC41 20mm Fighters off a demo bike kicking around here somewhere….

Oh, and with a nice seatpost it’s perfectly civilised for riding around on. I rode from Hebden Bridge to Hathersage on mine 18 months ago. Seatpost is key though. Nearly broke my back using a bit box post on the first prototype, then switched to a USE SUMO Alu and couldn’t believe the difference. Something like a Thomson would be quite harsh I would think. We’ve got SUMO’s in stock, or you could get something carbon maybe?

Can’t really comment on handling as I’m quite enormously biased, but an all up weight of around 28lbs with that kit would be easily doable. Paul’s Soul has that kind of thing on it and weighs under 27lbs, so as a BFe is 1lb more than a Soul I think you’ll be in the game. Small would be spot on for larking about at your height.

Shack, drop me a line. We’ve got some Magura brakes you might be interested in.

Surfr, we hold stock and we’re due a new shipment in a couple of weeks so we’ll be fully loaded for months. Colours aren’t changing.

Ooo, forgot about Swinno’s. Thanks Dave. Swinnerton’s in Cannock will have one soon too ;-)

You’ll struggle to get something through Cyclescheme half decent because of the limit, and regardless of what people say there are certain legal issues with ‘topping up’. The suggestion above is a good one though; get either a £1,000 hardtail with the best spec you can find on the scheme and do a frame swap, or the sales.

New ones are loads stiffer than last years (which really weren’t that flexy really) and you’ll need either one of our dealers with a demo (18 Bikes in Hope, Cyclescene nr York, or Freedom Bikes down in Brighton) or we’ll be doing three of the National Demo Tour dates coming up; Aston Hill, Cannock and Glentress.
