Doh! Is it too late to patent this?

“On topic, its likely because any time any properly fit and strong cyclist rides a segment I’ve got a KoM on I’ll lose it that I really don’t care about motorpacing/wind/cheating etc. As long as I’m getting better and beating my mates, I’m quite content”.

And this my friends is why we have Strava. Life’s not always about being at the top of a list.

The estate version of the Golf is great and the same size as the previous Passat model

Golf no question (the Mk7 is better than the A3) but if you so many motorway miles make sure you get the SE edition with adaptive cuise control

On the assumption the facts are as you say, this is one of the most worrying examples of police derogation off responsibility I have heard of. This sort of thing is exactly what s3 (making off without payment) of the Theft Act 1978 was brought in to cover. The fact pattern could be a law school criminal law exam question it’s so obviously criminal.

Hunt wheels. Those guys are seriously cool. Great product as well.

@Northwind you are punk and I am folk but we can both love the same band for different things and that’s cool (but I am right and you are wrong ;-)

Roddy woomble from Idlewild has done an album pretty much every year, in various guises, some of which are awesome.

Beta Band (minus Steve Mason) morphed into the Aliens and made two of the best albums of the 2000s. The little brother of one of them formed Django Django, and you can hear the synergies.

Gomez were successful in the States and have done 5 or 6 albums since the heady days of Get Myself Arrested.

No idea about Mansun but I think they’re still banned from Liverpool Street Station.

Apparently they also make a Ti frame called the Tripster. I think there’s a thread about it somewhere.

I have a pair of the new Hunt disc wheels for road duties and they just work.

Acyclistforlife; where in the SW are you based mate?

There’s a little known work around to this which you can find here:

At the other end of the spectrum I have put some road pedals, Hunt disc wheels and 25mm tyres on mine. Went out on my personal 20 mile fast paced course into a strong headwind and got to within 1kmp/h of my best time on my carbon race bike. These Tripsters really can do it all, or most of it at least.

The original post is confusing about the number of relevant neighbours. Is it one other neighbour or several?

Anyway it’s impossible to know how to advise on the facts given. Reminds me of one of the role plays we used to get given at solicitor school. But then we had 20 mins locked in a room with the pretend client to try and tease out of them what the **** they were on about.

Sorry but your post is so vague it’s impossible to know what you mean. I don’t even understand what your question is.

Happened to weigh mine today actually, as a mate has leant me one of those proper bike scales things. Came in at 9.38kg with pedals. Currently got the Kinesis crossmax wheels with 28mm open paves on there. Expecting a delivery of my new Hunt x Mason wheels so once I’ve got those on with some 25mm contis I think I’ll be nicely under 9kg. Not bad for a “winter” bike. That’s with 105 (5800).

Yeah, that’s not on. ACC is a massive improvement over standard cruise control, which frankly is a bit useless in this country.

Do the extension properly and you’ve got nothing to worry about have you. Slightly worrying that you are being so defensive to be honest.

Travelling regularly on trains with a full size bike is a massive PITA, even when there’s a dedicated bike area. The day it broke me was the day I got out of my seat to get my bike a few mins before my stop and it has been completely buried by a carriage full of exchange students’ suitcases. Took me about two more stops after that to dig it out. People generally don’t respect bike storage areas on trains and use them as a general dumping area for whatever they can’t be arsed putting in the overhead racks.

I ended up getting a charge plug off eBay for £50 and leaving it at waterloo and that was ideal.

You don’t say what the nature of the issue is but is there a written contract? For example did you sign or verbally agree to use their standard terms and conditions before they did the job? If so you need to check what it says about governing law and jurisdiction.

Otherwise on the facts you’ve given it sounds like the place of performance of the Contract was England and you are therefore perfectly entitled to use the English system. If you end up serving papers on them make sure you at least copy them to the address of their business in England as well as sending to head office in Scotland.

The breakfast in the hotel is alright. No doubt they do “walk-ups”, as it’s known in the trade.

Just to add I’ve been following Garmin breadcumbs for running and cycling for years and have never had a problem – the beauty is in the simplicity and you won’t get the issues reported of the more advanced Garmins around auto re-routing, it trying to take you over fields/down the motorway etc.

As above, 200 does breadcrumb navigation and you can plot a route on a computer and download it no problems. If you look online there’s a lot of reports of the breadcrumb trails disappearing on the 500 (similar story to some of the later Garmin running watches), but the 200 works absolutely fine. It’s exactly what you are after.

The Garmin Edge 200 does all of that. You should be able to get a new one for around £80.

I went to Glasgow for a stag-do a few years back on BA for £32.

A mate of mine meant to be travelling with me didn’t want to pay the £7 premium over Ryanair so flew with them instead (ignoring the fact it was about a tenner more to get to Stansted than Heathrow).

Anyway that £25 flight ended up costing him £500 through not understanding their rules and basically being a muppet.

So don’t do that and you’ll be fine.

Kinesis are allegedly releasing a disc version of their GF Ti frame this summer. They’re made in the same factory as the ATR I think. Not sure what the tyre clearance is though.

The On-one Pickenflick from Planet X gets a good write up as well.

Not sure if either of these are horizontal enough for you but more do than the Trippy so worth mentioning.
