Nip into my office and file all my emails for me?

Did it for about 18 months with a nice Charge plug which I used to cycle to Canary Wharf and back. Much better option than taking a bike on the train. Plenty of parking and never had an issue with theft or vandalism.

This thread is weirder than a David Lynch film. Most of us on here are up for a bit of n+1 and everything but this is taking it a bit far.

OP instead of indulging this speed dating nonsense you should try and help your mate with whatever self esteem issues he has. Why is he knowingly in a “relationship” with someone who not only has another bloke on the go but who wants to take him speed dating so she can dump and replace him guilt free? And after he’s decided, for some reason, that he doesn’t really want to be the turkey that voted for Christmas, why would you agree to go in his place knowing that she is only going to find someone to replace your mate?! She’s a total loser, tell her to GFY.

For all you know it could be the buyer’s mortgage provider that is insisting on the indemnity. Whatever the issue, I understand your frustration but as everyone else has said the solution is not complaining about the buyer’s solicitor.

Even with good brands you have to be careful. I can’t stand a lot of the newer Salomon models (anything with an X in it especially) as they’re far too built up. However the Sense Mantra 2s are awesome for me. Shame they completely re-designed them for the 3rd gen.

As mentioned above the Saucony Peregrines are a good lightweight option as are the Asics Fuji Racers.

Trouble with the running shoe industry generally is they cant help but meddle so what was good for any particular invidual a couple of years ago but be totally wrong now.

Re: Canyon, was meant to be back up 7am Monday so clearly their big re-org is taking longer than planned.

5800 levers with Spyres are the stock build on the Kinesis Tripster. Mine have worked perfectly, don’t notice any difference between those and the latest Shimano hydraulics I have on my other bike to be honest.

I agree. Someone was trying to sell a “lightly used” road bike the other day for the same price as a new one at the current and widely available sale price. Plus he was shipping it from Europe at buyer’s extra cost. That makes his asking price way over what’s reasonable when you take into account warranties, lbs support, risk of not really knowing the history of a used bike and the like.

Yeah I didn’t understand the “same place” observation either. What did you mean by that?

That said asking people to complete the transaction other than in accordance with ebay’s policy is an automatic red flag. Doesn’t necessarily mean this guy is dodgy, but at that money I wouldn’t take the risk. This time of year you can get better bargains down the lbs.

Yeah yeah I know I know. I’m talking about their back office, not the flight product. Their latest indiscretion was taking two and a half months to send me a cancellation invoice that I needed to make an insurance claim.

There’s a bit of a paradox in your question because you talk about his moral oblgations whilst asking, effectively, whether you should have made a contract of legal obligations in advance.

I think it unlikely you are going to sue your colleague so what you are really looking for is in endorsement of your view that he has a moral obligation to put you right. Which he does, obviously. One cannot just borrow someone else’s stuff, return it in a complete state and then wander off whistling to themselves as if nothing had happened. We don’t live in a World where a conversation about his duty to look after your stuff needed to have been had in advance. It goes without saying.

If you’re really that worried anout the driving take a half day the day before and drive down on the afternoon. Then drive home after the AC. Day and a half off max is more than enough. Also practice explaining your thinking more clearly in advance of the AC.

What Wrecked said. Neither of these people have enough to worry about in life if this is how they spend their time.

Oh hang on, this was a trick question. A bit like the old “plane crashes on the border between two countries, where do you bury the survivors?”. Very good.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. The fact is there are a lot of people walking around who are complete c u next Tuesdays. Those people are like that about everything, whether it’s cycing or North African refugees desperately fleeing persecution. Tell him what you think of him, remind him he’s useless to humanity and never speak to him again.
