That sounds like a good idea! Might be interested if it would be able to provide activities for the non riding other half.

What about coming back to the uk to teach? You could do a short term contract. I have contacts if you are interested.

When I was serious about my rugby I shaved. This was the result of having too many 2nd rows with weak hands. When in the scrum, their hands would tire and slip down and rip my pubes. Very painful!

As mentioned before, I don't have a lot of mates into mountain biking and the few I do end of being a bit of a chore to organize. I am also really slow, so I am always worried about holding people up. Most of the time I really enjoy my own company, especially if it is a trail that I know well. Really the only time that I really missed riding with others was in Morzine this summer as most of the people I met were in groups. I found myself stopping way too much to check my map!

Perhaps try having a look at a Pug Expert/Cit Dispatch/Fiat Scudo… I have a Scudo with the seats in the back(they can be taken out) and just got back from a mad trip around Italy, France and Austria/Germany. Absolutely no probs and we got pretty good MPG(40+) at 80+ miles an hour. The van has all mod cons(air con, electric windows etc). Hope this helps.

Yes, kinda. Keep trying to finish but keep going back. Really fell out of love with the whole game a few years ago when I was playing a high standard. Didn't play for a few years then got a call out of the blue and played last year. It was alright but playing socially made me realize that I am still quite competitive.

What is worrying is that although their website says that they are only against "extreme" Islamists, they seem to be attracting the type of people that can't distinguish what extreme is and all Muslims are being targeted.

Have a look at IVA's as they are far less restrictive than bankruptcy.

We drove there a few years ago, during easter, so there were not many people around. We just spent a few days relaxing and swimming(cold!). From what I remember, the campsite was excellent and the people were friendly. Sorry not a great deal of help!

Off to Morzine/Les Gets on the 13th for six days then down to southern Italy for a wedding. Then have another six days at an undecided location. Any suggestions? Can't wait as this is my first time biking in the Alps. Kinda nervous as I will be on my own for most of it(wife doesn't really ride much and my mate is only over for a long weekend).

I am going to Morzine with the wife who isn't into mountain biking(yet!!). The plan is that I will ride and she will go off to the horse place and go hire a horse. Then we will meet up later in the day. I am also hoping to get her on a few easy rides. Hopefully we will enjoy it.

Slight hi jack but has anybody had experience with the stables in Morzine?

I remember seeing them on the second(I think) Lollapoolooza tour whilst travelling in Canada. They were pretty crap IMO. They came out on stage like they couldn't be bothered to be there. Started to play a song and then J decided his guitar was out of tune and spent the next few minutes(felt like hours) tuning it. Shame really as I quite liked them, kinda like a mix of Neil Young(one of my fav's) and Minor Threat(also one of my favs)

Be aware of right of way on roundabouts in France, some of them you have to give right of way to cars entering the roundabout. Also mind your speed as the French genedarmes love catching UK cars and you have to pay on the spot. Expensive!

CG what time do you think the ride will finish? We need to be back in London for a concert that starts at 7. Would like to do this as the Swinley ride was such a blast. Plus I have finally purchased my new bike.

Same here. Out last night for friday drinks. Finished in the pub and decided we wanted to carry on for a few more beers. Found a place still open and went to go in only to find there was a cover and the music was too loud for conversation. We all decided to go home.

Try looking up a bloke named Darondo- Let My People Go- excellent!, Shuggie Otis- Inspiration Information, or a compilation of my favorite label Stax that is celebrating 50 years. For some new soul maybe try looking at Amp Fiddler. Hope this helps, will try and think of some more.
