@ajantom you have a link? Halfords are doing them at 15% off and I can get them right now, so I don’t mind getting enough to just get the coverage for now. Wouldn’t mind seeing if I can get some more for half that price to be honest. Means I could do the rest of the garage for not a lot.

@CaptainSlow Yes. Home gym setup. I got some rubber flooring which is not unlike horse stall matting. I got 2.23 square metres for £44. The Halfords tiles work out to £17 for 2.16 square metres if my maths is correct. So a lot cheaper. If you know where I can get horse stall matting for cheaper then let me know. I looked into it, but people complained about the smell and so on so I stopped. I do agree it is a better alternative for wear though. The current plan is to use the rubber mat to put the rack in and the tiles for the sides. The tiles won’t have to take much weight. Just the occasional weight on the floor while I rack/rerack.

    Floor is painted already.

I’d be wary of sourcing the tiles from multiple sources too. Sounds like some people have had a hard time making them fit.

Alright, alright, I’ll get on with it.

If I die of fungicide toxicity then I’ll blame you lot.

@DaveyBoyWonder do you have a link to the product? I think I have about 20 square metres to cover. Halfords works out to about £17 for 4.32 square metres!

@Gee-Jay by grow, do you mean it deforms and spreads out? It shouldn’t have anything heavy on it for extended periods of time.

    29lbs?

That’s almost lighter than a Capra!

At 29lbs most of us would have a go at pedalling it most places! 😀

I used to live in a flat where the bloke on the ground floor fancied himself a DJ. Him and his wife partied every Friday and Saturday night. The music was so loud that books laid on the floor would bounce up and down. Partly it’s a problem with hastily converted flats, but he was a penis because he would just get aggressive every time I politely asked him to turn it down.

I came home drunk, got kicked out of bed, decided to have a bath and fell asleep in it. Unbeknownst to me the overflow wasn’t routed properly and his ceiling collapsed. I also answered the door to him in the altogether when I came to and heard him banging on my door.

He didn’t party much after that.

No, nothing wrong with that. Kind of in the same place myself.

Most of it is being a bit disillusioned with a bike I “fell in love” with. The bike’s great, I just have no time at all to ride it. When I do get out to ride I always like seeing a great bike ridden by someone who knows what they’re doing with it.

Or perhaps you know it’s not about the bike 😉

However, he does sell fights. Probably because most folk want to see him KO’d.

I know someone who is of that sentiment. Can’t say I’m a fan of that!

Really want the GGG fight to happen!

@BoardinBob has Khan ever dodged anyone? Think he moved up to fight Alvarez right?

Isn’t Khan rumoured to have a bit of a glass jaw as well?

Got someone to watch the Lomachenko fight with, awesome!

@dragon has at least one bactrian parent.

I usually take 2 x 750ml bottles for a 70km ride. They’re near empty by the time I’m home and these are very leisurely Z2-3 rides! If you’re really that way inclined, then weigh yourself just before you ride out. Do a fixed distance and then come back and weigh yourself. Most of your weight loss will be water via sweat. That’s how much you’ll have lost and should give you an idea of what you should carry.

With water you just drink when you’re thirsty. The “I don’t need water because I’m tough/fit” mentality is pretty old school and has no basis in fact. It could actually be pretty dangerous.

Pack up everybody, FunkyDunc found the cure to cramps.

You want to tell Rafael Nadal he’s unfit in this video here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABY0BR8d_z0

I think the general consensus is that nobody knows for sure why we cramp?

I had a rendezvous with Nina, in the back of her Cortina.
A seasoned up hyena. She couldn’t have been more keenah.
I got right up between her… well, you can Google the rest.

I think Shimano do some DH ones. M647s? Never used them so can’t comment.

Controversial opinion here. I think things like carb loading, energy gels, and weird things in packets are for pros who’re at racing weight with single digit body fat percentages.

I’d eat what I normally eat, pack some normal food (bagel with cream cheese and jam is one of my favourites) and make sure I always had food and water with me.

Saying that, if you normally eat a massive takeaway and drink 10 pints on the reg, then it may be an idea to skip that bit 🙂

@joebristol I think I’ve got the same stuff in mine.

Alright, long pile roller and masonry paint for the first go. I read into the sprayer (I even have a compressor with a painting attachment) but it looks like there’ll be too much dispersal for me to handle. I don’t want to mess around moving stuff. I’ve got it set up almost how I want it!

And no to the PVA then? I’m not sure why I’m so obsessed with it :s

I thought he looked “ok” in his fight with Mayweather physically. If Khan turns up wanting to fight then it’ll be entertaining I guess. I’m just an armchair fan, so what do I know.

If Manny turns up fully fit then it’s going to be decent. I wonder if boxing has a “conditioning” problem like some other sports if you know what I mean.

@mooman the fight I’d love to see is GGG v Alvarez. Also wouldn’t mind seeing Lomachenko again. Was really impressed with him.

@slimjim78 so paint the grout first and then use the roller?

Is the PVA to help seal the wall better? Guessing I don’t need it for the brick side.

How much is a bit? I’m reading some reports saying mix in PVA glue with it for the first coat. Anyone tried this?

I’ve asked this before, but what’s to stop you from putting it in a trust the day before they turn 18?

    Gait analysis = snake oil
Gait analysis on a treadmill = snake oil bath

Coaching and the Marathon Talk podcast are probably better alternatives. Good luck!

Btw, that was not a bad effort for Windsor for a newbie. I’ve run it before, and I’d run it again. It’s a very pleasant course for scenery, and the longest ever last mile!

No use if you want them to have it at 18, obviously.

    THIS +100

When I look into the future, I don’t want them to turn 18 and have nothing. I needed ready access to capital when I was in my 20s. If I turn 50 and still need help from mater and pater, then something would have gone terribly wrong. And in that case, there’d not be much more I could do anyway!

    @anagallis_arvensis
Assuming a £100k mortgage @4.5% over 25 years, £200pcm extra means paying it off 10 years early.
Assuming it’s £200 overpayment per year, it still works out to 2 years early!

I went with a stocks and shares ISA with a certain amount of money per month split into:
    – FTSE 100 tracker
    – A Vanguard life strategy fund
    – A tech stocks tracker (if the child’s going to be farmed as a data point through social media and the like then might as well make some money from it).

Probably overexposed to the UK in all fairness. But that’s a different conversation.

At close to 18 I’ll probably make a judgement to see if it should be moved into trust. The main point is to give them something to start with in my opinion. Even if you save £10 a month it will be a car when they turn 18.

Second not falling in love with it. There will be other houses.

At the risk of getting flamed, is being a in a “good” school catchment area really important? All the jobs the current education system is training kids for are going to be automated by the time they get to an employable age. The education system has changed little since the industrial revolution.

With this in mind, I’d not move anywhere I couldn’t get 50Mbps+ internet. Most of their learning is going to come via it in the future.

So, I’ve tried escalating to the higher ups, but not much has happened.

I think the next step is for me to get confirmation from them in writing that they will not be doing anything more to sort things out. Once I have this, I can go to an Ombudsman or small claims court to get a Final Solution to this.

I think I’ll be in for the long haul unless TW capitulate once the court papers appear, or the ombudsman prods them. I know the ombudsman has some lead time involved, but are court papers being served dependent on how busy the local courts are, or is there a fixed time for them to send things on?

I’m going to see if I can ask them what they’re praying for.

Say I were someone going in for a procedure. Could I legitimately complain that I felt intimidated and have the moved on? Asking for a…. friend.

Isn’t it rude to interrupt people in prayer?
