Thanks all. The bike will be run with on-one midge bars initially and is actually replacing a fargo 🙂 the frame, forks and bag for that are for sale in the classifieds! Got the frame from Triton, well I have ordered it this morning 😉

A friend of mine prioritises whether the candidate lives in the constituency over the party when voting. He also thinks any one that wants be an MP should be banned from doing so – not sure how that would work in practice!

As a dog owner and a landlord I rent out to dog owners but I need to meet the mutt first and there are a few clauses in the contract based around not having shit all over the garden, neighbour complaints / nuisance and possible extra charge for cleaning at the end of the tenancy. So far so good.

Thanks for that. I’m building from a frame up so spec will be my own. Does seem spot on for what I plan to use it for. 🙂

yeah but those films were proper rubbish and this series has been quite entertaining so far.

Must just be me as I would say that the other way around 🙂 but it certainly kicks the pants or should that be bloomers off downton abbey etc

Looks like it was made by someone who watched the guy ritchie sherlock holmes films and thought, ah, I can make a tv drama like that.

carradice sqr saddlle bag is what you want, use mine daily, so far way better than either panniers or a back pack, both of which I have used. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/carradice-sqr-slim-bag-including-sqr-bracket/

As balance the yodel driver that have delivered to us have been very helpful. Hide parcels in sensible places round the back out of sight and where they can’t get wet and pops the location on the card through the letterbox. Saves me a lot of hassle.

I have. Be prepared. It isn’t a quick process. I stuck to my guns and returned each letter / form to the named person at the bottom of the letters they sent me. Took about 3 months from start to finish but I did get money back from them. Claimed for £75 and received £54. My item wasn’t dmaged it was totally lost. Thankfully not a bike but still. It didn’t actually take that long to complete each form.

Taking a different tack on this after watching masterchef last night – do the processes take more ‘goodness’ out of the food than ‘normal’ cooking or does it make little difference? e.g. cooking onions for 96 hours in a plastic bag and vacum ‘cooking’ fruit. Just a question for those with more knowledge than me.

I was diagnosed with high cholesterol about 2 years ago. Did all the diet changes oats, fish, no red meat, no butter, cut out most sat fat etc etc result f*ck all difference. GP then did a risk test based on my height, weight etc plus family history and said if it was over 15% we would have to consider statins, over 20% then I was going on statins. My came out at 3.9%. Turns out my mums side of the family has high cholesterol as a standard state and all have lived into their 80s so I’m not too concerned about it but still cutting out the crap food as much as I can as that has wider beneifts anyway.

The only avids I use now are BB7 cable ones. Juicys put me off their hydraulic range for life. That said I have had issues with some shimanos but not nearly as many.

She was crap on motogp, I really don’t see how she keeps getting work.

Relative to Azi Farni she was fantastic. Azi is poor beyond belief.

I have been watching it, only wish it was a 17″ and I’d be straight in there. These were discounted to £1100 in some places so be interesting to see what it goes for.

I was there in June this year, still not over it to be honest, it has definitely had an effect on me and not entirely positive.

Roast chicken – one of our dogs would camp in front of the oven until it was ready. He loved the stuff. We used chicken to train him on recall, worked a treat, although a bit odd shouting ‘chicken’ in the park.

Hope both your dogs are on the mend soon. And yes sometimes the ‘output’ is rank.

druidh – 17″ ideally I saw that and I can go and collect it but I fear it will be a bit to too big. I’m 5’11” with a 31 inside leg but quite like my bikes small. I also fancied the tweaked 2013 geometry but beggars and choosers and all that 😉

I ran mine with a rigid exotic carbon 29er fork and loved the way it rode, could be a wee bitty waggly on steep climbs but never caused me real problems.

Fingers crossed for your pup. We lost one of ours in the middle of September and it is hard but putting the dog first is the correct thing and the last act of kindness but hopefully it won’t come to that.

*even if you had a very well behaved dog are you sure you’d trust it off the lead near a road/cyclepath?

Yes, my two are never on the lead on the pavement. Occasionaly call them to wait and taken hold of there collar as required. Only the long passed terrier ever was on a lead but they are barking 🙂

    That’ll be a ‘no’ then?

If I’m not walking on the shared path but the dog is does it still need to be on a short lead? 😉
