Did it 2 years ago and am back again this year. First years course was pretty good and not too technical. One b’stad climb and I loved the last section through the trees 🙂

Thanks grum. I think it is time to contact the gp. Not a severe case but definitely have quite a few symptoms listed there and have done so on and off for 8 years now.

May sound like an odd question but when does ‘feeling a bit down’ become depression?

If she has a point about litter then she doesn’t mention it in her article.

I should have been clearer, I was referring to one of the comments underneath, not the original rant.

Agree with other comments above but I feel she has a point about the litter problem and not just around the etape. One of my local road routes (yes in perthshire) is, on a Sunday, strewn with discarded gel warppers and empty water bottles. Water bottles, ffs, you are not on the tour de france!

Keep the motorbike for nice Sundays when the roads are quiet.

Do they even exist nowadays? Never went out on a Sunday unless I was back home by 10am having left at 6am.

Back on topic – selling a motorbike. I gave up in 2004 and I regretted it the moment the van the buyer put it in started up to drive off. I then gave up again in December 2012 and don’t miss it at all. If you sell the bike, keep the gear and you can always get another one in the future. I now plan to hire one now 2-3 times a year for a nice day out, total cost £240. That’s less than my annual insurance on the last bike let alone, servicing, tyres etc.

Well that is a shame but it won’t make me get BT TV or any other paid for service over and above the TV licence. On second thoughts I can see the TV licence going in the not too distant future. Hardly watch TV these days but MotoGP and more importantly Moto2 and Moto3 on the red button 🙂

If its anything like the ones I have seen put up, it will mostly be motionless.

    🙂

If you ride a road bike, peaks get in the way, if you only have one helemt for both it wont have a peak.

Or get a helmet with a pop on / pop off peak, like mine, a Giro. Takes a couple of seconds.

Well that’s me sold then 🙂
The younger dog has been out cycling with us and is going to be a great trail hound, the older one can’t manage so well. Problem now solved!
    Cheers.
    P.S. That video is ace!

Thanks for such a fantastic reply. It is very much appreciated. Is the dog tethered in at all or just very well trained?
    Thanks again.

    Thanks all.

Looks like the way to go is to get a trailer that I can use for another purpose if it doesn’t work out, but in theory it should be ok.

    chilled76 – that is a top idea 🙂

nickjb – you make a very valid point. I had thought of buying a cargo trailer (carry freedom etc) and fitting some kind of box on it, so if it didn’t work out at least I had a trailer I could use for other towing purposes.

Update – collected box from neighbour yesterday evening and it was intact and contained the bike, all good.

paceface – based on the above the forks WILL get to me in good condition but probably not by the most logical route 🙂

I had a medium and I’m just over 5’10”, I sold it pretty sharpish for the reasons given by the OP. McMoonter now has the frame.

Update – it has arrived! It’s been delivered to a neighbour at the second attempt. The local depot agreed to do this if I wasn’t in. Neighbour called me at 11:30 to say PF van heading out of cul-de-sac and she didn’t have any parcel and the door bell hadn’t been rung. I called local depot. Upshot the van came back and delivered to said neighbour. I suspect the Fort William stuff was boll*cks but I now have a bike which is the main thing 🙂

I hear you cookeaa but a bike is too big for my work, did it once before and was told no to do so again 🙁

Quite a nice thot that someone is enjoying the bike 🙂 hopefully it will be me, soon!

Loving the tune there duckman 😉

As I said they are used to be very good and the usual delivery driver is usually spot on as he lives round the conrer as has taken a parcel home for me in the past, I suspect it isn’t him doing the drop today. Our RM postie is ace as well.

Yes, although I ask Mrs M to check it over & buzz the fluffy bits that I miss. It’s easy & quick & remarkably cheap.

    +1 although not Mrs M 🙂

Good news – they have now found it. Bad news – it’s on the way to Fort William. So not really any closer to me, further south yes and on a similar latitude but now 100 miles west of me. 🙂

As I said, the mind boggles.

When you hand over payment details, etc, have you tried asking for a particular courier or saying not to use Parcel Force. I normally use this point to request RM or PF.

Up until now, no, as they have been good, but recently……..

It now turns out they don’t know where the Inverness parcel is. It’s OK as it’s nothing important, only a bike.

As a dog owner with coats full of poo bags waiting to be deployed i would report it to the council. I hate standing in another dogs crap after cleaning up after my own two, grrrrrrr 🙁

Well the cinema trailer I saw last time I was at Cineworld looked bad enough so I was doubtful about seeing it, this thread has firmed up that thinking.

Should the thread title be either:

    Running is Sh*t
    Just a thought.

We’re all electric 2 bedroom and pay £52 a month and have just this morning being informed we are getting £275 back after getting a faulty meter changed! Whoop whoop. I can’t believe how much some of you are paying, genuinely surprised.

Footflaps – virgin are also crap. Turned off my mates broadband instead of the flat next door that had cancelled the contract. Two weeks later it was finally back on with compensation of £4.20. Then came a £50 demand for a new connection that he had had for over a year. In all took 8 weeks to sort out.

Basically most large companies are crap at some point.

Great city, I loved it. Second the comments about the memorials and the Air and Space Museum. I loved Georgetown. Overall a really chilled almost ‘unamerican’ city. Some of the outer districts are meant to be a bit dodgy.
