Speaking as the owner of a rescue dog who had a tendency to do that to other dogs I took control of the situation and have worked hard to socialise and train our dog and would expect the owner of the spaniel to do the same. If they don’t take control of the situation then I will. I would then have a ‘chat’ with the owner of said dog. As a dog owner one of my pet hates (no pun intended) is the phrase, ‘he’s only playing’.

However, I did feel my little Kinesis Xcpro3 with it’s100mm travel forks was a little inadequate in comparison to most bikes on display…..or at least it’s now unfashionably steep head angle made me feel inadequate at times too….

Try riding it on a rigid single speed 🙂

I am a big Kawasaki fan but that is hideous. That said, you can’t see how ugly it is when you’re riding it.

It does say underneath is “Nice chilled out ride……” the clue is kind of in that statement.

I was going to apply for it but neither my boss nor HR would support it so instead they have a somewhat disgruntled person working 5 days. The policy says they have to consider it. They did for all of about 2 seconds. Bitter, me, never.

I use a saddle bag on mine so they weight isn’t really a big issue for me. Never really noticed it to be honest. I use Crud Raceguards on mine.

Having owned both (not the current models mind you), I still use the Paddy Wagon on an almost daily basis. Never really got on with the Flyer, frame felt a bit dull.

C spanner or you can tap it off with a thick flat headed screwdriver and hammer but that is more awkward.

Yodel did manage to deliver a parcel to my door a few weeks back, the driver said he had 117 in the van still to be delivered. If true (and it did look full) 😯

I can’t imagine them being able to do much if they are wearing hand cuffs 😉

At a quick glance it appears that the more deprived areas of Scotland have had a stronger Yes vote. If that isn’t a cry for help I don’t know what is.

Well ‘glum tennis star’ has now received tweets saying they wished he had been killed in the Dunblane incident….. 🙁

As I’m not Scotch I will not be making any predictions.

Nice to see there isn’t any generalising or stereotyping in this thread 😕

The insurance things is harsh but it is 100% legal. The motorcycle crash referred to happened about 12 miles away from me and the insurance aspect of it was all over the local papers.

Great event. Top marks to the organisers. 🙂

60 dead but on the positive side 150 rescued andf lots of food, blankets etc have been donated with local people offering to home dogs. As a past and current owner of many rescue dogs I am a bit lost for words on the act itself.

It’s hardly the Tour of Britain this year is it. As others have said it doesn’t get north of Liverpool.

The only thing that has worked for us is a hose. It’s time consuming but was time well spent. The orange peel didn’t work and isn’t practical for us, neither dig the sonic device which was utterly utterly useless. Slabs didn’t work either as they then just crapped in a different bit of the border.

Surely if you can afford motors like those above you can afford to run another shitter to transport the bike?

Maybe the 911 is the shitter transport? Anyway, it’s a car, use it.

+1 on Carradice bags as well. For what I need to carry it is much better than panniers.

Ordered a bike online last Wednesday, received confirmation email just after that. Received dispatch email on the Thursday then received the bike on the Friday morning. Can’t fault them.

I echo what others have said. I was up that way in July and only took the cx bike, left the mtb at home. The previous time I was there I had the mtb and was wishing I’d brought the cx bike 🙂

As others have said I always use a 7/8 spd chain. Avoid PC1.

As per usual, some brilliant responses here and it seems that we may have matched some sellers to buyers 🙂 Always good when something positive comes out of a moan!

What is this 15% off of which you speak? I know loads of students 🙂

Edit – found it, and it applies to staff as well.

Thanks all. Good advice there 🙂 and lots of food for thought. I’ll have a chat with the good lady wife then we can go out for a play on various systems and devices. Cheers 😀

Thanks nickjb. I wasn’t sure how easy it was to back up iphones etc on non apple equipment but I guess you just use itunes for windows.

Thanks for the comments. The current laptop is a G4 bought new in April 2001! Recently it has really started to struggle with various websites and takes around 2 minutes to open excel. It has given sterling service but I think it is due retirement.

I’ve been with HBOS for over 20 years and have done this on quite a few occasions but only ever from my current account. Never had any communication about it from them and it has always gone through.

Vans are great. I need the space in mine so haven’t built a bed in it but use it as a bivvy alternative on foul nights.

It was the last time I was on it but tyres with decent puncture protection would be handy.
