we hoover our two when we are doing the house. It is worse at the mo as they are starting to lose winter coats.

If I remember correctly GT Restaurants turned the glentress hotel around but were touch n go at one point. Nice to keep it local.

Also get the risk factor test and remember that current thinking takes into account the ratio between good and bad, not just the outright figures.

Speaking from experience, look at the sat fat on all foods and adjust diet accordingly, eat oats, take 3 cholesterol lowering yoghurts a week, job done, oh, and avoid statins like the plague.

I think we may be coming at it from different ends. I like it as it takes me back to ‘discovery’ xc rides of old and and in fairness it does say as much on the website:

Please note as these trails are ‘natural’ and not armoured in their entirety, then depending on the weather, there may well be wet and muddy sections; fair weather trails – as described in a mountain bike article.

The trail is largely natural using ancient drovers roads, winding singletrack with lung bursting climbs and long swooping descents. We have taken the best of the natural trails and linked them up using new purpose built singletrack to form a loop….

I did it about 2 years ago and really liked it. Not a trail centre more like a series of oh, i wonder where that goes rides linking up singletrack, farm roads etc into one big loop.

    That’s is horrible… 😉

Really like that. Just building up a 26 ss after discounting a 29er based on previous experience.

My frame is not suspension so is £150. I have had frames powdercoated locally in the past and won’t do so again, no end of issues so the cost is worth it for the piece of mind. Will do this in the spring. Thanks for all the comments. All the gear…. my money I can do what I like with it.

Unfrtunately the honest answer wasn’t given in a open forum so it leads to accusations of saying one thing publicly whilst thinking something else differently. I can’t believe that in this day and age politicians still fall for this. I’d have a lot more respect for him if he had come out and said he was against it all and as such he wasn’t the best person to make the decision.

ignore them. If I wouldn’t want to be friends out of facebook why would I want to be friends on it?

I’m afraid I have a rather one sided view on this as I have never ridden a Soul but I have been chuffed to bits with the ride from my PAs, of which I own 2!

No, your not. I’m trying to spend more time riding these days though rather than stripping down, building up and fettling bikes, it’s been a bit silly recently.

Lived there on and off for 3 years. Based on that I would rather live in peebles or innerleithen. Place I stayed had no mobile coverage inside and broadband was slow. Nice local shop with good bacon rolls. Cycle route via the old railway line and a sheep field to glentress. Would not want to commute to edinburgh with any regularity.

Not on the bird table but we had a nuthatch in the evergreens at the bottom of the garden last year. Would love to see an owl in the garden, have heard it often enough!

Been running mine with twin rings up front (22 and 36, 18 on the rear) and have now done around 3000 miles on this set-up with no issues.

Not a steel frame either but fitted rack and full mudguards on a kona dew drop with only a little beding of a mudguard strut. Took all of an extra 15 mins.

As an aside, like most people who volunteer, I am surprised at the number of people (normally parents) who are not prepared to assist with activities and then have a go at the people who do.

well said, it won’t be the first time a parent has had a pop for no valid reason, usually when things are explianed to them they apologise but not in all cases.

I volunteer at a local cycle club. probably 3 out of 4 saturday mornings. I’m an SMBLA mtb leader and level 2 BC coach (soon to be mtb specific) and really enjoy it. Not a big commitment but enough for me.

If you are sticking to the road you can do it in a day, 57 ish miles. North is hillier south less so, depends which you want first. Don’t stay in blackwaterfoot lodge. Many places close on 31st October.

Woolwich and RBS have done this to me, as well as Motorcycle Direct. I phoned the organisations but also phoned the individuals details that I had received. Motorcycle Direct was very apologetic, Woolich less so and RBS didn’t seem to give a sh*t.

we just save £30 a month into an account to cover vet bills, so far we are have £2k+ saved for the two dogs. If they never need anything then we have the funds, if we do then the bulk if not all of the money is there to cover it.

For ‘high performance’ cycling as you suggest in your second post then yes the easing off might cost you precious tenths of a second or cms distance, for joe bloggs out riding with their mates it is not noticeable. Even when using derailleurs I always ease off chnaging down anyway, can’t say the alfine is much different and as TJ said you can change up and keep the pressure on. If it’s not for you it’s not for you.
