Hello cynic-al, just to give you some hope I am selling my wifes (with her knowledge) R reg Suzuki GN125. She bought this when it was one year old, it now had 4147 miles on it. She is the second owner. Just had new battery, plug, oil, oil and air filter fitted by myself. Garaged all it’s days. Small dent in tank (paint solid and some pitting on fork lowers. Price £575. All paperwork MOTs, etc. Not what I would call knackered. It is located in scotland so probably no use to you but they are out there.

Would a small taste of their own medicine make the point or escalate things?

Riding more has just reinforced all my bad habits so that they are really hard to change now 🙄 skills course here I come. Speaking personally – fashion no, more benefit to me than some bike parts for the same cost, yes.

fuzzywuzzy – I am in the minority as I love altura kit and have only ever had one issue in 5+ years of using altura, some stitching started to come away on a pair of trousers but they were replaced no questions asked, whereas endura….

My commute is 10 miles and I use panniers as I need to carry daily kit. I use the extra weight and a longer route home as a training ride working on the basis that a heavier bike is harder to cycle 😆 Been using panniers on and off for 6 years and have no issues at all with them. I did used to use a seat post mounted rack which you could take on and off in second with the panniers attached but now have a dedicated commuter.

Can’t comment on the Carat’s but I have run Fulda tyres in the past and found them better in the wet than contis and easily as good in the dry (used on the same front wheel drive car). Someone will be along in a moment to say they are sh*t.

Kona dew plus here , 700c wheels, cable disc brakes, full mudguards and rack with panniers – sorted. Weighs a ton but I think of it as good training! Bike new was a tad over £300 in a sale.

Aren’t they picked up on the pnc checks anyway so they know without even having to stop you? I think that’s what my police copper sister tells me but I guess that does depend on having the correct reg plate on….

If you know nothing about cars it is an easy thing to do. You fill up the fuel tank, washer bottle etc so why not the engine with oil? That was the thinking of the lady I met at the petrol station who had put 5 litres in to the engine with another 5 ready to go in. The oil light had come on, she had stopped, phoned home and was told to put oil in the engine, so she was….

I’m with TJ on this one. Phoned the helpline twice, once the router was bust (3+ years old) and I got a new one next day FOC, the other time we had a major weather induced power cut and the exchange went a bit loopy. Two events that would happen with any other company I’m sure.
