Don’t discount buggy bags, they’ve made two custom ones for me over the years and they were top notch and a lot less than alpkit / wildcat.

My light comes off via a quick release system which allows me to use it as a torch when away bike packing but I guess the wheel would be attractive to anyone who spots the wires and knows what they are looking at?

I always tell hotels when I’m leaving whether I have had a good or bad experience with them. If no-one ever tells them that they’re sh*t, how can you I hope for them to improve?

I look at my Spyres last night and the front was correct and the rear wrong – new Genesis Day One disc. Never noticed this before!

I have SP dynamos on two bikes with REVO exposure lights and a redeye rear, have done so for over a year now and wouldn’t go back to a battery and they stay on when you stop.

Is fatbiking mainstream? Other than my own :-) I have yet to see one out on the trails or down by the sea on the sandy beaches.

The wheels have been in for a couple of weeks but I’ll try and remember to measure this at the weekend.

Somewhat annoyingly I think this will be up for sale shortly :(

The stem wasn’t listed with in the supplied parts when I bought mine although it is shown in the picture. I have built mine up with standard 29er wheels and 2.4 tyres, then with 29+ rabbit hole rims running 29×3 chronicles. Either works but the latter could only go 2x not 3x.

My alt bars are for sale as I’ll never use them with having the Jones loops.

Again – pretty much what binners said. Fair play to your Doctor as well, mine was utterly utterly useless when I arrived at their door.

Ironically having looked at my work schedule for the coming year and with a house sale and house purchase coming up I fear it may languish in the garage :(

I never used the alt bars as I have the Jones. With regard to clearance I get slight tyre rub in the lowest 26×36 gear but it clears fine as soon as I change up one gear.

Basic but reliable build for my bike packing ride. Will use my apidura pack on the seat post as required:

A 30-minute documentary, Lance Armstrong: The Road Ahead, will be broadcast on BBC News at 20:30 GMT on Thursday, 29 January, and again over the following days on that channel and BBC World News. An extended edit of Dan Roan’s interview will also be available on the BBC iPlayer.

I’m astounded that they can make so much money be selling such mediocre kit.

Is it not something to do with Apple being a brand that people want to own / be associated with and as such they can overlook the product to some extent?

Rough guide measurements – centre to centre along the top tube 570mm, horizontal centre of head tube to centre of seat post 595mm, all approx garage measurements on a 17.5″ frame set.

Last one I did I did in a vice without issue, was a black ‘brittle’ one.

If I remember I’ll measure that tonight on mine as I need to measure up for a small frame bag anyway.

Armstrong to Auschwitz – a bit of a leap?

Not an LA fan and think he is a limelight craving somewhat twisted individual but I do almost have a grudging respect for saying that back in 1995 he would dope again.

As the old adage goes ‘everything sells at a price’. If you ‘need’ to sell it then either accept that it will take longer to do this at the price you are asking or do something about the price.

Well I usually ride a 17.5″ or thereabout mtb, so I ordered that size. It arrived yesterday and so far in to the early stages of the build it looks like the ideal choice. Time will tell…..

Swimming against the tide a bit here but I switched off literally about half way through. Found it all rather slow and dull.

Today we have just sold a BTL property. We bought close to us so that we could keep an eye on it and manage it ourselves. We are selling to release the capital for other projects. We have had good tenants and a pet dog in the property but we are dog people ourselves and met the dog before signing the lease. We also had some extra conditions added in to the lease around pet damage and had an additional pet deposit.

Overall it has provided a good return but I am not going to miss being a landlord.

My Day One Disc has the same issue – approx 1-2mm clearance. To date it has been issue free.

3.5 years. Most I have ever done is 4 years at one place. Can’t really see myself getting passed 4.5 years (contract ends then) with current employer due to lack of job satisfaction and prospects.

Would never have a CX bike and I don’t “get” the point of riding terrain suited for MTB but then have to get off and carry the bike because it’s basically a road bike off road. Huh?

Round my way there’s plenty of rides I can do that are 50/50 tarmac and hardpacked trails so a CX makes good sense.

Same here, mtb would be overkill but road bike with slicks pointless on the off road sections.

If I didn’t cycle to work I would hardly cycle at all! We’re looking to move house and one of the key considerations is what my cycle would be like to work.

I haven’t owned either of these models but have owned and driven via the company many VW and Peugeot vans and I would go VW every time.

2 lurchers here and they get fed around 8am and 6pm. They get the same base food but we do add bits of fish (sardines / pilchards) and various cooking sauces 3-4nights a weeks to keep it a bit varied for them. I reckon a good 60% of the food appeal to a dog is smell, then 30% is the full stomach feeling with the remaining 10% being actual taste!
