I ran an alfine with twin rings and an alfine tensioner, it coped no probs with a 14T difference at the front, ran an 8spd chain.

In a previous job I did they did expect this and got it, much to the resentment of the non-smokers, apparently it made the smokers more productive.

Where I am we can self-refer to NHS physio, from there you get a diganosis that either involves exercises or referral back to GP for the next stage, i.e. hospital.

Maybe they think more expensive forks are better sealed and built, longer lasting and require less maintenance?

i wouldn’t say I’m depressed but I find cycling helps a lot mentally. It gives me time to think and re-evaluate things and maybe get a different perspective. That said when you get to the half way point you know you are heading back to the same situations, oh to keep on cycling!

Funny, I built an 8 spd alfine with 3 cross and no problems, thanks for the inout though. Never built 2 cross!

I calculate that using an xc717 rim with an erd of 541 and 32/3 pattern I will need 256mm spokes. Sound about right? Spoke hole is 2.6mm, flange dia is 93mm and centre to flange is 29.5 and 24mm. Done the calc a few times just seeking some reassurance!

Team sport also teach or should teach other transferable skills / issues e.g.co-operation, empathy, organisation etc that probably aren’t so prevalent in individual activities. I don’t do team sport cos I want to succeed or fail on my own merits, not someone elses.

To answer your question – greyhounds and long walks are not a good mix. We have 2 lurchers one loves long walkw as he has collie in the mix, the other doesn’t so much, so you won’t know 100% until you get the dog and try it. They are fantastic dogs though. The current two are the third and fourth ones we have had, when they go I’ll be gutted but we will get the fifth and sixth!
I agree with what has been said about salukis but that Walking Ollie book is one of the worst dog books I have ever read.

Usually as long as you have reservation number. I used to use it a fair bit between Dundee and Aberdeen and can’t really fault it for the price.
