I rode back from Iona on jan 3rd one year on my bmw when it was well below freezing and I used to ride a motorbike the whole year round – paint in in a grease / solvent mix in october and wash it in march

Been there, done that, all year round commute, have chosen not to do so again.

Personally I’d just tell her my concerns, you don’t need to be rude, if needs be sell it as being concerned for her….

I’m swithering, haven’t entered yet, might head up and do so on fri night or Sat morn, but forecast for sat and sat night is grim 🙁 so might just do big local loop on Sun instead.

that’s why it takes the ‘nana skins so long to rot

    I’m sure I don’t know what you mean 😉

I used the mini-v that tektro make, advantages they are more powerful but they can clog more easily with mud, depends what riding you do and which aspect your value more.

‘Need’ doesn’t come in to it, nowadays it seems to be a light race akin to the arms race of years gone by 😕

I am just about to buy a 1000 lumen light as I don’t ride the same trails regularly and the ay-ups actually hold back the speed a fair bit.

Any update on these at all?

PS – I have one on a commuter and one on an mtb. Shifting under load is not something I do anyway so this has never been an issue for me.

Writing as a dog owner the situation is unacceptable. As others have said it is their problem to solve and I would be making that very clear and pointing out the next steps I would be taking, dog warden then police as required.

Water doesn’t always works, many dogs actually love it.

watch the poppers on it, they are crap. I am now on my third one in as many months as the poppers keep pulling through the strap when undo the top one to I roll it down to gain access, have now given up and stitched velcro on.

Two sessions cured my sciatica problem right up, top stuff. Made the mistake of asking how far the needle went in, yikes! 😯

Sometimes when I drive up to the one on the corner to get dinner for the kids I’ll get myself a meal as well, they won’t do too much harm if I only have one occasionally- most of the time though I’ll just get them for the kids and have something healthier for myself.

I’ve never understood this, fill the kids with McD cr*p but eat something healthy yourself, or have I missed something?

I never signal drivers when it is or isn’t safe to overtake, it’s just another potential liability for me if something goes wrong.

Spokes Cycles – Perth Road Dundee.

Good bunch of lads, seem to know their stuff and always very helpful

+1. Don’t use them much myself as I do my own spannering nowadays but I recommend them to others and the feedback has always been very good.

As other have said it isn’t great off road at all. I have a large y-frame and it is excellent on road with all kinds of weird loads, have even carried two bikes on it.

People can and do become somewhat institutionalised but personally it would take a lot longer and when it did happen would probably be the time to leave. On the bright side he’ll be gone in 2 years 😉

That video makes cycle commuting look like a nightmare, almost enough to force me back to the car 😕 That would take me forever to get to and from work.

I guess as long as the bike goes and stops enough for their requirements then all is well in their world. Different standards and outlooks. With regard to the saab does brake dust affect braking performance? If not, why the fuss? He night think you’re odd for cleaning a company car.

I really don’t see the point in having a dog with balls that doesn’t need them. Their wee stinks, they try and hump everything and are more aggressive while they have balls.

Tha doesn’t sound anything like my 11 year old ‘intact’ dog. Basically judge each case on its merits. We always said that if he became an amorous pain he would get ‘done’. He never has done and so is intact. The bitcvh wa speyed from day one in case of other interested males. I have also seen great male dogs basically ruined by being done, no energy or enthusiasm, no interest at all in anything.

There are hormones you can try in advance of the snip that give an insight as to how the dog will behave post-op.

It does hack me off a bit as a dog owner that we can walk the beach quite happily through all the cr*p winter weather but come the nicer weather all the folk who have been inside all winter that you haven’t seen on the beach form months suddently appear and the dogs are banned.
