Ridden solo for the past two years in less than ideal conditions, last year was especially bad. Cannot do this year and the forecast is fantastic! Enjoy
My mate has his mtb borrowed when he was climbing that very mountain (Suilven). Someone took the bike and left a note saying ‘sorry they were running late’ and that they would leave it at the start of the stalkers path. It was there but a bit **** cheeky as it then made my mate very late.
I’m not in any way an expert on it all I can say is that for us it was cheaper to install than gas central heating and our all electric house costs less to run than an identical propertys gas bill alone. At some stage we will hook it up for solar panels as well. Biomass not a practical option for us. Monthly electric cost is sub £50 per month.
True, but people shouldn’t have to suffer just because they are gullible.
I think you do a lot of people a disservice. Also there are plenty cases out there where ‘quackers’ techniques have fixed medical issues that modern medicine hasn’t. Whether that is psychosomatic or as a genuine intervention, the result has been positive. My own back being a case in point.
It does when that person starts telling other people to throw away their nasty pills and instead use crystals and happy thoughts to treat their potentially-fatal-but-treatable disease.
I hear you but it’s an individual choice, it’s their body. But at a less extreme level e.g. back pain, migraines I don’t see the problem. If you are in pain / ill health surely it is worth trying all options for relief a try whether backed up by science or not. Science doesn’t know / cure everything.
Have a look at Bad Science by Dr Ben Goldacre, there’s bugger all proper scientific evidence for accupuncture, osteopathy, homeopathy, crystals and their ilk.
Does that matter as long as the person feels better i.e. it works for them?
Back on topic I thought Charles forecast effort was really good and fair play to him and Camilla for doing it.
Muke – where did you hear that about Ellison? Surely he’s as good as Shakey (and he’s a Northerner)
was announced tuesday, only for the next motogp round, to get some more feedback on the bike and in Paul Birds words to get Ellison to ‘”pull his finger out”
Excel, have used it for years, works for me, whack all the standing orders in and then each transaction and you know what is left, I keep that amount on a note in my wallet next to cash card and update each time I spend 🙂
both 🙂 don’t want a lot of money tied up in an mtb though, have just found some last years models online that night do the job. Had a clearout and reappraisal of riding priorities.
You could go for vertical dropouts with an ebb. Selling my complete bike at the moment (not because of the ebb) and prefer the ebb to the other two options.
I feel for you havibng been ther before. We now have 2 lurchers. The one that is very much my dog is 12 and now slowing down. I keep saying he is immortal and my wife keeps reminding me he isn’t! You know yourself when the time is right, doesn’t make it any easier though. Try and concentrate on what he added to your lives.
35c to wide for road racers but as other have said bog standard sks etc can be fitted with a bit of careful bendiong round the caliper, worked a treat on my croix de fer.
Must be the season for it as my last mtb is currently on ebay. I do have the mtb that I got for my 21st birthday but that is kept for sentimental reasons. I haven’t put a leg over an mtb since september but have done loads of commuting and road miles (for me). I still have a cx bike for mixed riding but mtbing involves driving somehwere which is riding time used up.
Dundee – regularly voted one of the best and cheapest student cities in the UK and also 20 miles from SSE headquarters in Perth. Small yes, has it’s dubious areas but so do all the others. Ignore TJ.
