Colin is right about getting rid of the RC2 gubbins, just a load of marketing bollocks that is not needed, way plusher without

You have to use the Scott as it works opposite to conventional shocks going into itself when compressed.

You never see cracked ones anymore because not very many people ride them anymore.

    RepacK,
My point is people with a small budget will be able to do the route with the info from Endlessride.

I think you can go to prison for riding that route without Jamies say so.

I would avoid Rubber Queens, go for a Larson or Crossmark on the back and an Ardent on the front, the ones with Lust sidewalls.
Not used the ust but the other Rubber Queens pinch really easily.

It will cost you more to fix if you need parts than buying a new one off Chain Reaction for 30 odd quid

Just get yourself a high mountain first aid course certificate and avoid some areas of France and you will be fine. Common sense is way more important than meaningless qualifications.

    Agree with stevo,
If you want adjustable forks get Lyrik coils if not go for Vans.

They are selling Hayes HFX-9s for £30 on Chain Reaction at the moment, it sometimes works out cheaper to replace the whole thing.

Bike Verbier are no longer based in Verbier because they have found a better chalet giving access to the same trails + loads more around the Valais and beyond. Verbier is not like the Portes du Soleil with thousands of bikers riding there every week. People get the wrong impression of Verbier because it is a lively winter resort.

this is Lucy from Bike Verbier on Phil’s login. last summer there was a problem with the police due to some walkers (english) dragging out an old law about trail access. this is being sorted out now with the commune and tourist office and it is business as usual for us. we moved out of Verbier as we were able to buy and renovate a chalet especially for bikers which is much more central to all out riding as only a small proportion of our trails are in Verbier itself.
The chalet still sleeps 12 and is bigger, more luxurious and even has its own bar in the garage.
    cheers Lucy

Traveling over from Verbier to do the race, looking forward to it. Im going to do it on a Scott Genius as i think it may involve a fair bit of flatish stuff.

wl was held down and bummed by 3 trail builders and has been anti trail centre ever since, it has got nothing to do with them being less fun than beating yourself around the knackers with stinging nettles.

    Peterpoddy,
When you add up the costs of transfers, food, lodgings, guiding and all the other stuff, i think there are some good deals to be had with a fully catered, guided chalet.
Plus when on your own you waste valuble time riding some not so good trails.

    Flamejob,
Why would you throw away pads that are only half worn?

I would rather ride with 25 people than 500.

Orange are selling 2, 14″ alpine 5s on their website, great bikes and only 25 made.
