I had a Maxxis 2.25 Advantage tyre on the front and changed for Ardent 2.4, this lifted the front end 1cm.

I think it’s been a poor year this year for sales so you should see loads of stuff in the sales soon. I would hire skis, as the learning curve is so fast that the short, soft skis you need to learn on will be too short after about 3 weeks. I would go on a couple of holidays before you commit to buying skis.

You don’t have to go far out of the city to find nicer chalet style houses.
big scot nanny, Callier chocolate is part of Nestle , so hardly a Swiss secret. Went to the Callier chocolate factory for a visit a few weeks ago, they have a tasting room :D try the caramel and salt, it’s great.

Loads of dirt jumpers don’t use oversized bars so loads of normal short stems about.

Enduro is a crappy name and causes a lot of confusion, why did they just not make up a new word for it, then everyone would be happy?
In France they use Marathon and Enduro, where as in the uk some longer races and long non competitive rides have been called Enduros for years.
To me Enduro should involve a motorbike.

Go to the local supermarkets for food and it will be cheapish.

I live in the French speaking part of Switzerland and find the people pretty much like in the Uk, you get the good and the bad ones. I have found the Swiss Germans to be a bit dull and anal but very trustworthy.
You will be close to some amazing biking :D

I find it best to run the same bars on all my bikes as you feel at home straight away jumping from one bike to another. I run 745mm Sunlines.

Lifts should be open then, lots of dh runs, not done any stuff away from the lifts. Crans Montana is also worth a day.

No maps are needed for Pila, 1 or 2 days is enough though.

This is Lucy posting under Phil’s log in.
I started Shotokan Karate as a 10 year old and kept training for 15 years. It was one of the best things I did as a child to build my confidence and self discipline. We were lucky enough to be taught by Japanese instructors on a regular basis and our instructors regularly travelled to Japan to train. I was lucky enough to go there once too. We were taught to avoid violence and walk away from confrontation. However on a couple of occasions as a teenager in difficult situations I did call on the skills I had learned for self defense.
If you find a club which offers a range of classes and has a good mix of ages, sex and grades this is a good sign.
I would definitely recommend Karate, if not Judo is great for kids as like the others say it is very good for learning to fall.

Try these people for a club in your area. Their website is being updated but all the links work. Hope this helps.

You could get them instead of those Crossmax wheels and spend the difference on a small bungalow in Wales.

You must let a little bit out every 10 seconds whilst riding, then you don’t get really wet.
