mw80's for anything down to -5, with normal socks… below -5 I wear extra warm themal sealskins socks. brilliant shoes the mw80's, never get cold in them….. =)

you might wanna try the Lighter versions of them. normal practice is a blue groove front, nevegal rear, but i like just having two nevegals.

Thickest sealskins socks, shimano MW80 shoes, and leg/arm warmers…. but i only need to do that in the depth of the Highland Winter……
maybe try over shoes to eliminate windchill.
for gloves, nothing works. they all end up being cold in the end.

mw80s, i used 44 last year, ordered 45 this year, but as my feet are still gorwing, the 45's are too small, at least 45 is an easy size for the shop to flog.

sealskins gloves seem to be made for people with immensly small fingers… i used a set last winter, didnt hate them too much, but I've gone to try them and i dont know how on earth I'll be able to control the handlebars with them. seemed tight on me when I was a year younger, now their impossible.

I shouldnt have to buy XL, maybe XXL gloves aged 15. 🙂

north of inverness the leaves are getting pretty thick. i love riding in autumn but theres always that thought in the back of your mind that theres nothing in between autumn and winter, it can only get colder… which is no bad thing really…. the next dry hardpack ride will be the three week long "everythings frozen" period in around 4 months time…

im just gonna try and enjoy autumn =)

On thursday, you could come out with us in the evening. Ride golspie during the day, head through to Strathpeffer for 6 o'clock, bring lights and come and get shown the best trails. I wouldnt have said that laggan is a full day's riding… but then again you could ride somewhere else in the aviemore area that day aswell…

be good to get someone else on the thursday night ride 🙂
