as of yesterday, there is no snow!

to start the trails at strathpeffer, you might be better to head to contin, by continuing through strathpeffer and down the other side of the hill, until you get to torrachilty forest (the strathpuffer base) and then start your ride with a long haul up the firetrack (but ending with a nice downhill.)

right- 1) they are all good frames.
    2) giant are great for warranties if you ever need them to, but i dont know what spesh are like. i do know lots of yeti carbon things crack though, in comparison to giant and spesh.
    3) the i have only ridden the giant and specialized frames but the giant (i felt) rides more nicely than the spesh.

If it were my money id get the giant, but if i were you i would head to demo days and try the bikes.

I like them- two people who know what they are talking about – your comment about graham bell being a failed downhill racer, is very unfair. He did better than the current crop of british Downhillers are doing.

tootin- I was quite lucky to get a job in my LBS aged 14… a month after i started I bought that XTC carbon frame for 300… built it up over time, this is its second year racing 😀

Do you get a guarantee with the e-bay frame?

If not, it may be worth buying a cube/giant over the e-bay frame, even if the frame is the same (or better)!

If so then go for the e-bay one… built with Stans 355 on pro3 hubs built with XTR kit… simples..

yeah, upgrading the wheels to something lighter would be an advantage- but the flip side is that the stock bike comes with Shimano XT, Rockshox SID race forks and a Carbon frame… wheels are 1800grams and should be the first place to upgrade if you can…
