i believe that if the qr has been loose in the past it can move and enlarge the drop out. Even then if you have it tight it will move slightly and creak.

oh and you don't actually get that many people asking for demo bikes.

i have never been to a bike shop that doesn't struggle for space. If you stock two brands for example and have demo bikes for the 2 or 3 key bikes in the range thats 4 to 6 more to squeeze in with all the bikes in for repair and your display stock. Plus a shop doesn't get the level of discount from the supplier that they would then have to give when they sold it at the end of the year as it's essentially second hand.

is it the middle of the outer mech plate or towards one end? If towards one end do you need to alter the angle of you mech? Alternatively is the big ring spaced out off the chainset for some reason?

I don't know the answer but one thing to consider is how are you planning on taking payments i.e. do you need some form of secure server to collect CC information which I assume will increase the costs/have a subscription attached?
