Yes it's likely, I've heard about other companies doing it.

Some bikes come in boxes with 'this bike must only be assembled by a trained mechanic' on them which makes sending them out 'mailorder' a bit dubious.

Is that gate a single pivot design?

I think he saved it. I can't really comment though as I'm 'spectating' because that bit was way out of my league.

The red stuff isn't that technical though, I enjoyed it and it was my first time on a MTB in 10 years!
(Not that I rode all of the red, but it was good to learn on the bits I could ride)

@roach or the 'average'* wage is higher.

*which in itself is not a good thing to be basing any kind of policy/view on.

Clubber I guess it could also be a 'self-fulfilling' prophecy as the more that 'theory' gets banded about the more 29ers get made in 'large' sizes to meet demand whilst companies don't make XL+ size 26" wheeled bikes?

Yes I do wear shorts out in a year to 18 months but shop in charity shops and wear cheap no fear stuff from lillywhites

Genius idea, off to the charity shops on pay day! 🙂

Whoever added Beastie Boys – Girls, I thank you

I was disappointed when it didn't flow into 'fight for your right' though. Not that the Death in Vegas song is bad…

As a point of reference I got a secondhand Singular Swift Frame and rigid forks for £250.

Reckon wheels would set you back in the £80-200 range depending on hubs/rims and whether you build them yourself.

@MrTall I reckon you could just have a 'big lads' ride with the Singletrack world members from Worcestershire!

(wait for me to get/finish my bike though) 😉

I've found the Borough CX tyres on my '08 brilliant on the road, found chunks of glass in them without punctures.

Rubbish as soon as you hit anything that looks remotely like mud though.

Maybe we need to cull a few old people logan's run style.

Not only would it reduce the 'pensions burden' but people would inherit their assets so encouraging spending and the government gets more tax from it too, reducing the public borrowing?

    Win/win…no? 🙁

On a serious note are there any stats for increasing death rates during economic down turns?

Isn't it like £40 by deed poll but you legally have to keep the name for at least 1 year?

the model of capitalism is working

It is…people's welfare sadly is not one of the parameters in the model.

(although some people do need to redress what they view as 'necessities', but hey their high expectations are due to/a requirement of Capitalism in the first place! :))

Are there not lots of second hand singular forks lying around in people's "spares" boxes due to all the people who've fitted suspension forks on their swift?

Love the design and finishing touches of the Singular, but not so keen on the colour

Considering your 'current' frame…something about people in glass houses? 🙄

As my moutain bike build currently has no wheels (or stem, or brakes or etc…) a road ride is all I can do currently.

M-boy pipe down, I know that!

stratobiker I have a good 10 years until I'd qualify for the LVRC, I've also never 'raced' a bike in my life…which is probably a good thing as I'm pretty slow!

When we went we stayed at 'Harding House' which is a really nice B&B in 'Cambridge' (near Harvard/MIT).

I think with the exchange rate at the time cost us about £500 for 6 nights, not sure what it would cost now.

The subway/underground is pretty good but once in the centre just walk around and there's a fair bit to see, it's an enjoyable walk just wandering along the freedom trail. My aunt took us on a 'Duck tour' on the last day and it was really good, I got to drive on the river! 😉

not even just a road that goes 'up' for longer than a couple of minutes? It's a pic off of my phone so not the best quality

@MilitantGraham seeing as I don't have an OS map of the area yet and trying to work it out using google maps is pretty hard I thought I'd ask for the locals opinion/advice.

I've got to go to the Laundrette, which is karma for spending the 'washing machine' money on a bike frame. 🙄

Might get an hour in later on the road or just run some errands on my single speed.

jedi and Edric 64 what 'normal' shorts do you wear?

I've found with non cycling baggies that I wear through the arse in about a year.

Mine works fine most of the time, I think the 5 minutes padding has been corrected/removed.

I've found I've had more issues with TV reception than broadband speed.

The graph is from bike radar.

    It's on this review.

Not sure if there is another article with more information regarding their methods somewhere on the site.

X2's are 'bottom' are they not…V2's are up near the top.

Doesn't that graph just show that in general most brakes will stop you relatively quickly?

Visit Bikology opposite the Hyde Park pub in Leeds you don't need that much space! Although their bread and butter must be repairs as the amount of 'stock' on display is a pretty small selection.

Are they still building that 'bike hub' at the station?

I always used to wander around Leeds city centre (before I moved) pondering on why there wasn't a bike shop located there. I think it probably is because rents/overheads are too high…I always thought one of the empty shops down towards the station would be a good place for one (e.g.the one next to Spencers)

    @vinnyeh you're not wrong…odd that.

But if you just put 'FS' or 'WTD' in front of your search term e.g. "FS Chris King headset" and search the entire forum you can get the desired results.

It's not shite, just doesn't spoon feed you.
