How do you make your living? I am a RAF Movements Controller. Basicly i load and unload all millitary transport aitcraft and charter aircraft (inc Antonov 124 :D) with passengers, cargo, mail and weapons. The unit i am on now travels with each aircraft in small teams to wherever they go in the world ( Las Vegas, Canada, Malasia, Afgan, Iraq etc)to facillitate the load/unloading. I also have been taught to do the weight and ballance of the aircraft. I can run a Passenger terminal from passenger walking in the door to getting on the plane.

    Are you happy doing it?Yes.

Would you considering a change of career?I have just entered my last 2 years of service 697 days left. If i dont get promoted i will be forced out but want to stay at the moment.

Does it pay enough for you to mtb comfortably? Used to, not now we have a baby on the way, due in 3 months!

I have the xt trail caged spd’s they work for me because when I’m not on the trail I cycle to work on them just in boots. Saves changing pedals mid week.

Wouldn’t be wandering off the roads down there to find single track, too many landmines. No joke,

Also might run over a penguin!

forget the civic, get an integra Type-R (DC2 not DC5)

fast, good hard vtec kick ( and tyre chirp 2nd to 3rd if your pushing it) corners better than ANY other honda (except maybe the nsx)and you can fit 3 bikes and riding kit in it with the seats down!

EDIT- also rear seats usable for adults!

this therory works upon the princables that toast always lands butter side down and that cats always land on their feet. what you do is strap 4 peices of toast butterside up to the cats feet this means that the toast cannot land on its butter side and the cat cannot land on its back so you get levitation now wrap the cat in a thin layer of copper wire and place between two magnets and you have an unlimited frictionless supply of energy.

    ill get my coat

    i got a 2.4 V6 Audi A4 Avant for £500 on ebay!

best family car ever! Dog, kids, bags and bike = Done!

EDIT- Missed the economical bit, only does 30MPG but its better than the 9mpg of Skyline powered 200sx

i just roll or ride mine up the ramp of a Hercules or C17 and put one strap over it to stop it falling over lent against the wall. then when we get to wherever just ride it off 🙂

    love being in the RAF.

I work as a mover (read: part of my job is to handle baggage on RAF transport planes)and have moved/loaded many bikes in bags and boxes to aircraft. I would have to agree that bikes that are less protected or more visable are without thinking handled with more care. For example not having cases stacked on top of them.

you have to remember that un-cycling types that load planes just see a bag/box not a bike and thats another reason IMO to keep the bike visable like the one in the poly bag above.

am i right in thinking that the bigger wheels will eliminate or at least reduce the pedal strike issue of the 26? (this being the main reason i didnt get a 26 a few months ago and am still in the market! for a FS)
