Ian w, I did exactly that! I went from a 2.4 v6 A4 to a 2.2D Mazda 6 and it is better in every way, and soooo much space inside ,

Borrowed a mates when I was looking to buy a few months ago. Was a nice fit and comfortable but I found it very hot and pads leaked sweat into my eyes down my face. I went for a POC Trabec Race, same feeling of fitment but better venting for me and lighter. Just the looks are a bit marmite

I just picked up a 2.2 Mazda 6 estate. It’s massive! 4 bikes + 4 people. Inside! (both wheels off) 550 miles average per tank and it’s quick

    Cool, thanks for the replies.

I ride clipped in so not too worried about shin protection but will check out the flank. Is there a sizing guide anywhere or is it a case of try before you buy?

    Love the spitfire.

I have done the same as you, upgraded from 3 years on a 140mm HT (Orange crush) to a 150mm FS, pivot mach 5.7C. Can’t wait to get back to the UK for my first ride!

Think of the services like a separate community. You have your percentage of service persons who will cause trouble, skive off and be that admin burden. You also have the percentage that will do what they are told and do what’s needed to keep the seniors happy and just get by kind of like the “grey man” then you have the percentile that work their balls off, do as much as they can, get on any and every course to improve themselves and therefore whatever service they are in. They will do voluntary community work and strive for promotion.

What I am trying to say is people only remember the negative things but there is a lot more to it than that. You can see just from reading the above replies who is serving, has served or has close family that is in uniform vs Joe public.

Living in a military house I can’t do things like fit a steel door or too much permanent fortification due to moving approx every 3 years. Any anchors I put in Will have to stay and may land me a fine on moving out, but I’ll risk that.

My local cycling club is a mtb club! http://www.mbswindon.co.uk/ and we have our own urban trail. The infamas croft trail (the one behind nationwide as some know it) http://www.mbswindon.co.uk/croft-trail/croft-trail-maps/

Hi Rob, I’m part of MB Swindon,it’s a really really friendly club and very welcoming to all styles of riding and ability. Hargroves is a good choice and recommended.

Glad you have been to the croft trail, not too bad is it 🙂

If you’re sticking around the area for a while get involved with the regular club rides in the local area well worth it. Also swindon is close to Bradbury clump which is worth a ride if you can’t go too far.

Haha it takes a while, I came off 6 times in one ride at cannock when switching over. One of those was next to the car when we got back. Nothing like laying on the floor In a car park still clipped to the bike with strangers laughing at you haha
