Apologies to Matt > I have implied unfairly that tweeks took the extras -, I was attempting humour. This was wrong and I understand that now. Although it is odd that 2014 bikes are getting paint in the box.

Fwiw, Matt was perfectly nice and very tolerant of my demanding nature.
I now accept that I shouldn’t have high expectations or expect to get what other people get.
    Life isn’t fair.

I will add that transition USA have offered to send me some paint. I have zip ties, already. Stickers would have been nice tho :/

    2013 covert CF 26.
No paint, or stickers and an apparent “piss off” from tweeks when asked where they were. They tell me paint and shock pumps aren’t shipped with frames any more. Sounds like a little black marketeering going on to me.

A little miffed considering the spend on a “premium” frame.

    Tough?
It’s a little frustrating but unavoidable I guess. This is what happens if you rely on global warming to make trails in north Wales rideable in February.

I had a SS inbred with a 140 talas in it.

It never broke despite my attempts.

I reckon the Best bet is to take a POS out to the states and leave it there. pick up a SC from Craig’s list (from nearby near Santa Cruz CA) and bring it home in the bike bag you took out.

    That’s my plan ;)

Ahhhhhh, I’ve been down this road recently…

nobby nics 2.25 evo ss are pretty light @ 580g, but I’m getting hacked off with tearing them on rocks :(

for trail centre enduros I think I’ll go back to maxx pro DHF 60a @ 780g and out back a folding crossmark @ 640g or a high roller @ 690g.

Saddle – lost quite a bit there.
switched from 2×9 with a bash to 1×9, could lose a bit more when I get through my last few cassettes and go 1×10 with a shadow+ Zee mech.
picked up some secondhand DT Swiss 1750 and a DT Swiss 10×135 axel – surprisingly light!
(thanks fella – you know who you are)
Ti spring saved a lb, I could go airshock and lose another lb, but it would kill the ride a bit…

180mm ally full sus – 31lb with pedals.

    next step: toobless

http://northshoreracks.com – this is what you want, but make it towball mounted rather than a US style 2″ hitch.

I just got a POC Trabec to replace a Fox which didn’t fit too well.
the harness is very adjustable – similar to Fox & Giros.
it feels lighter than the Fox, but that might be because I had to use a buff under it.
It sits higher (on my head, which is XS & round like a **** orange (yours might be different, naturally) so visibility seems better.
NB: it doesn’t seem to work with my riding glasses – so may have to trim the arms off them a little.
But it does work with goggles – which the fox didn’t.

On balance: worth it for me because it’s blue & fits – most other manufacturers lids don’t seem to get small enough for my pin head.
Not so good if price is more important to you & your head fits lower cost brands.

    Phil,
I used a Larsen TT tubeless at CyB, it tore on the 1st descent (maybe I was running it too soft at 30psi?).
I settled on a crossmax on the rear as they are fast but a little tougher and something gripper on the front – like a nobby nic or 2.3 DHF or even the 2.4 highroller 2, although they seem to come up huge. Ardent get good feedback too, but I’ve not tried one.

I have a SB8 on the SS bike & it is very fast & grips well on dry/fast clearing dirt (chicksands, thetford etc). I felt the lugs are a a little low profile for staying really connected on wet/muddier trails around Pirton & in the peak.- also they seem to attract blackthorn.

I have a few part worns in the garage if you want something specifically for next weekends trip (but they are not UST)?

All the riders I’ve collared at kings cross (who have had a dahon) slated them for failing after 6-8 months of daily folding. I ‘think’ the tern & the new top of the range Dahon have a new design which is allegedly stronger and more reliable.
I’m inclined to give the Verge X10 a go & maybe singlespeed it. I could put the 10spd cassette on my AM bike :D
Anyone know a Tern dealer near Chancery Lane Station?
