I’m planning on giving it a go tonight so will post when I get back.

Your pic’s always make me plan my next lakes trip, looks like just the kind of riding I like. Any chance of the route?

I’ll put something up on MTBNorthEast as well. Sounds like the Darlo scrotes have been busy – saw this on the DBC facebook page earlier:

“STOLEN BIKE ALERT 4 bikes stolen
in The Darlington area in last couple of weeks (2 last night) 2 x
Lapierres, Santa Cruz and Cannondale. Believed to be taken in a white citroen”

Howgills aren't exactly on the way home! Think A1(M) M62 please!

They could be – only adds about 20mins to the journey vs A1 / M62 if you go across the A66 and down the M6, often go that way if I have to go to the office in Manchester as it's a nicer drive & less chance of getting stuck in a jam.

Bookmooch sounds like what you want.

List your books, you get I think 1/10th of a point per book listed & a point per book given, use your points to request books others have listed.

Looking at my profile I've had 84 books off there & given 68, must admit I haven't used it for a while and I need to update my list of books available to be "mooched".

You can get (& give) books overseas as well, it just costs more points.

Also, you can add "friends" so if people post their user names up, people can add them as friends and see what is being shared by STW members.

My "inventory" of books available to swap is here

Rode this yesterday, it was a great ride. The climbs are as tough as they look on the map but all 3 descents were well worth the effort.

Thanks for the pic's Pennine, looks like some great riding. Which way round would give the best descents on Old Cote Moor / Firth Fell?

There's an "open" version now – no invite needed.

    It's limited to 20hrs a month, but that's a fair bit (about 25 albums)

Don't suppose you could forward those route descriptions to me as well? Email in profile.

I can see lots of lakes trips in my near future!

    STW delivers!

This was the one – was a cover after all.

    What a relief, thank you!

whats the level of competitiveness? Do you think it would be OK to basically turn up for a laugh or is actually being competent a pre-requisite?

I'll be going and I've no intention of being competitive. Just going for a laugh.

Thanks everyone, maybe not quite the bargain I was hoping it would be, but could still work out to be a good deal.

Thanks everyone, a few more to look at there.

DruidH / Too Tall, the seatpost is for my 2nd bike which is used primarily as a jump / play bike, hence the smaller frame. It’s being pressed into more XC duties as my main bike is in bit’s with various items sent off for servicing. Even so I agree with Jim – why does a 400mm seatpost equal an incorrectly sized frame? Surely it depends on what type of riding you do?
