That has been getting bad over the last few years. Is the lower track through Broughton Plantation rideable? To come out just past Cold Moor?

The descent across Cold Moor is one of my favourite ends to a ride, must get back over for a ride soon.

I’ve got these for £30. The sound is very bass heavy and there’s a background buzz when you connect via BT but they are fine for the job I bought them for (using on the turbo trainer).

Went from a Nomad to a Mega TR (130mm rear). I’ve never felt underbiked, even in the Alps (had my DH bike with me but chose to ride the TR everyday). My next bike will be similar travel, likely a T-130, Spitfire or Scout.

It’s a shame everyone thinks they “need” a 160mm bike as it means the short(er) travel trail bike segment of the market is fairly limited for choice – even more so now Nukeproof have dropped the TR from their range.

Has anyone had any issues with the iphone app freezing? Twice in the last week or so it has frozen about 20 mins into a workout. Cadence & power are still working & displayed but the interval & total time is frozen and I can’t get it to restart, so I have to abandon the session and start a new one from scratch.

When this happens the workout is saved to my career but there is no image associated with it. There is an option to “resume ride” but it doesn’t work and just dumps me back at the career screen.

I’ve mailed TR support but just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same.

I use it quite a bit. I turn on the heatmap, and generally the automatic mode follows stuff that shows up on there quite well (although sometimes you have to help it out by clicking on some points along the way, rather than just at the end of section you want to follow.

Sometimes it just refuses to snap to the route you want though and you have to use manual mode which, as you say is a bit of a PITA with all the “calculating route” pauses.

Had Pneumonia and a clot on the lung at the start of November last year. Had antibiotics for the pneumonia and am on blood thinners for the clot. I started back slowly on the exercise bike in late December and was back out riding in early Jan. I’m still not fully back to 100% but getting there.

Only advice is listen to your doc and ask them the question, they can guide you better than someone on t’internet.

I think a new zip may be the best option, struggling to find one in XXL other than the white one.

Do you know if the Marathon ones are much different to the velo?

As there’s a screw on both sides, does it matter which side / screw you tap from, or will the pin come out in either direction?

Reviving this thread, as I’m replacing the chainstay assembly on my TR. Can anyone advise how you remove / replace the pivot pin / bearings?

The backnut just catches enough to stop the chainring rotating but I wouldn’t want to put any torque through it at all. It’s a Works chainring, so I guess I’ll also need the XL version with the 5.5mm backnut.

    Thanks.

Dialled Alpine filled that space for me, Stanton Slackline’s are great frames also. Either could be built up to a great spec for £2K

I’m 6’3″ and the biggest Dialled fit’s OK (running a 420mm Reverb), a mate is similar height and has a large Slackline.

Both are at the more agro end of the “Hardcore Hardtail” spectrum but I’m sure you could get even more DH focused with something like a BTR Fabrications if that’s what you want.

Just bought one myself, but haven’t built it up yet. I’ve read lots of good things and I’m hoping it’ll be a good compliment to my dialled alpine.

I’m coming from a carbon nomad which I loved but was more bike then I needed for 95% of my riding.

Thanks for this Spookydan, I’m toying with the idea of getting one of these myself. Any pics of yours?

I snapped the steerer on my Fox 36 Talas. I’d just ridden the rock drop at Stainburn, stopped to watch a mate go over it, then as I went to pedal away the bars came away in my hands 😯

    just ride it anyway..

I do :-), but I also know quite a few people who won’t either through a misplaced sense of right and wrong, or through having previously had run in’s with the aggressive land manager.

Do you know where the old BW went after the meeting of the grains? Was it east towards the Forest or north towards the weardale way(or both)?

Any links to show where these routes would/ should be? Quite interested in the historic access Weardale, as there seems to be a dearth of bridleways.

On a related note do you know if there has ever been an attempt to reclassify the meeting of the grains footpath as it’s a bridleway on the forest side of the parish boundary, and looks like it used to be a bridleway on historic maps?

I’ll 2nd Impreziv in Darlo, they did my Heckler 1.5 times (had to get a new rear triangle after it was done the first time), and they have done a few mates bikes, all spot on.

The climb from Seave Green gets very steep in places in the woods (East Bank Plantation), but the surface is generally OK, we usually use it as a quick but painful way of getting some height out of Chop Gate. The last bit from the woods to the track on Urra moor is a definite push – steep & tussocky grass.

The DH trails are normally fine. I was up there a few weeks ago and it was torrential all day long and 95% of it was fine, just the odd bit of splodge.

The websites been down for a while, the best bet is to catch them on facebook or call Craig 07795514251
