Bunked off work early to make the most of ‘Summer’ which has turned up early this year.

A nice shortish local ride in glorious sunshine on mainly dry trails :-) gotta be better than working…

IIRC Dibbs off here has done this but he started very early from Plymouth & finished at Minehead at silly o’clock, he also did it a fair few years ago so not sure if he had/used a GPS for the route.

I’ve done the Sustrans route 27 C2C in a day, 115 miles & 10 hrs riding on a great cyclepath/bw route. If you’re gonna go all off road then I would probably allow 2 easyish days or one full on v.hard day in the saddle.

I’ve looked at this a few times & I’ve yet to find a doable route that floats my boat.

Due to ongoing health issues meaning I can’t ride far I’m unable to ride to my usual LBS instead here is a pic of my nearest LBS in the sleepy Cornish town of Callington

Next week, abandoned crap on the trail-side / fly-tipping …

Having been laid up off the bike with a bad back for two weeks I decided to bite the bullet & ride through the pain barrier to take part in this weeks competition.

Thanks to Graham for starting this again & inspiring people to get out there on their bikes.

Anyway I didn’t go far incase I had to get off & push back home so here is my effort which is part of the Callington Town mural trail a nice thing for a small town.

Shame some scrote has defaced it :|

trying to line up my hoss in the mural

I agree with ‘your LBS’ for next weeks theme :-)

Can you use GPX routes on a GPS? only I have a number of routes you can have for W.Dartmoor & E.Dartmoor.

I have other routes on word docs if you want them.

    Email in profile.

I assume that you are going to file an online return, if so you will need to complete a PAYE page to include your PAYE earnings & tax paid, you will also need to complete a self employment page for your sole trader income.

Basically you need to return both sources for the year separately .

A cheeky mid-week day off work in March to make the most of the dry trails on Dartmoor. Not many people about (all at work) & it was a sunny windless day – superb :D

Yunki please stop putting up great shots of Dartmoor on here cos you’re making it look so bloody lovely we’ll have everyman & his dog down here riding around & we’ll never have the trails to ourselves anymore, plus I’ll have to drag Bigbloke and his mates around (again) next summer.

We all know it’s really flat as a pancake on Dartmoor with very boggy bits & only fireroads to ride on

Thanks I hope you have a fun day on Dartmoor, if you haven’t already got OS map OL 28 covering Dartmoor then I’d recommend you do just in case you have to navigate off the moor.

if you have new chain, new jockey wheels & new cassette and its still slipping then you have worn chainring(s) on the front.

Get your plastic out again & buy a new chainring or chainrings.

you need to host your pic on the web & then link to it using the ‘IMG’ button when you post. Click on ‘IMG’ & paste the image location details of your pic, then click OK.

this is what the details look like – without the gap after the first

    & you get this pic

I’ve got a few routes on Dartmoor you can have but they start Princetown, Burrator or Belliver rather than Okehampton or Lydford.

Starting from Oke or Lydford you really only have (Route 27) the Granitie way to ride, if you can get to Burrator or Princetown then you’ll be good to go.

Let me know if you want me to send you the routes – email in profile.

Nice (wet) one, I ride up there now & again and it’s funny how the camera angle flattens some of the terrain and I had trouble a few times identifying where you were.

Loved the OTB @ South Hessary Tor that bit catches a lot of riders out :-)

    1. practice somewhere where its a soft landing

    2. have them set at the loosest setting first & gradually tighten them up so they don’t unclip when riding along

    3. get a mate to capture your first fall still clipped in on camera for fb

    4. throw away the flats & go SPD only
