I managed to get down to the event latish on Sunday morning from 10 to 12 to catch up with some mates taking part. I also took along my trusty box brownie to take some snaps of the riders, I'm no SFB or Sheldona but I've got pics of rider No.s:

This will be my 4th Explorer on the bounce plus I had a two day tour bimbling round Dunkery Beacon/Selworthy Common/etc with a mate a few years back & I've loved it everytime I've been there. Oh and I took part on the recent STW Q's ride too.

Woo Hoo <waves> yep me & my mate will be there for another blast on some of Exmoor's finest next Sunday.

I would be grateful to any locals letting me know the trail conditions say next Friday so I know whether to bring my 'slicks' or my 'wellies' 😆

I rode around some woods near to where I live which are owned by one Mr Charles Windsor of Clarence House London 🙂

I had a great time on some super fast single track, with great views & dry tracks. However I disturbed a Buzzard in the trees & as he flew off a foot long branch about 3 inches thick hit me on the head 😕 after looking at the trees it must have been the one Billy Buzzard was sitting on & as he flew off it dropped right on my bonce, how he timed it right to hit me on the head is amazing.

Off down to watch the Bonti 24/12 tomorrow morning to catch up with some mates taking part & to take some pics with my camera.

If you can't find one online them maybe give Propel a call on Monday. They are the UK distributor for Formula & should be able to help. 🙂

A bit of gaffa tape will fix that & be good for another 300 miles 😉

I run K24's & apart from the problem mentioned above about the master cyclinder piston they have been great.

Given your near escape I would be tempted to speak to Propel & ask them about it, they are the distributors for Formula so they should know what the problem is & more importantly how to fix it.

    Hi Sakamoto

There are few Exmoor/Quantock regulars who frequent this site namely – Dibbs, Sharki, Knottie8, Snaps, Azarat – I'm sure they would be able to help you out with some of Exmoors best riding.

This is a shameless 'bump' to get you back on the front page & hopefully one of them will be in contact with you. I hope you enjoy your riding on Exmoor. 😀

I did a short confidence building ride today locally at Kit Hill, Cornwall. After my big faceplant two weeks ago on Dartmoor I'm getting better & was riding at about 90% of my pre-crash speed 😆

This was me after faceplanting on Dartmoor last Saturday morning, got airborne Ok but landed all wrong….

The next day & I’ve never looked better 😕

but don’t worry folks cos this is me a week later – see I told you it was just a scratch

I’m sorry to hear your very sad news Mick & please make the most of the time you have left together.

You may find this Macmillan site useful for general info etc about mesothelioma – I know the site helped me very recently on the subject of Cancer.

nice one aphex_2K my mate emigrated to Perth in 2002 & has never looked back. I have a feeling that your ‘no plans to stay’ could end up as ‘no plans to return home’.

Have a great time out there you jammywossaname – me jealous? surely NOT!!! 🙁 👿

Dunno if their quality is going down but I had a brand new pair of 3/4 length Hummvees, as a replacement for a pair with a broken zip, & the popper on the waist band would undo really easily when riding along. I was getting well pi$$ed off stopping every 5 mins to do my pants up & NO I’m not a pie-eating lardy biffa either 🙂

I have 4 pairs of Endura shorts & I checked them all but these pair were the only ones that had a dodgy popper. Took them back to the LBS who exchanged them for another pair which are fine.

    Cheers Rich.

The only thing I was gawping at yesterday mate was a very close up eye level view of the trail ahead & then wiping my face along some of Dartmoors finest granite 😕

Mrsflash – to coin a phrase ‘It only hurts when I laugh!!’

‘Walking like an Old woman’ – mate I’d swap that for this any day

Half a mile into a 15 miler on Dartmoor yesterday & my bike chucked me off resulting in this faceplant – I should point out that I first checked my bike was OK then got the camera out to capture the damage 😕

After a quick trip to A&E to have the big cuts glued & generally cleaned up I looked like this

This was taken a few mins ago scabbing up nicely…….

and you really don’t want to see the rip inside my mouth – mashed up soft food for me then this week 😆

    I have had some very recent experiance of being given Cancer news & I found this site useful for info;

    http://www.macmillan.org.uk/

I hope this is useful & as said above everyone deals with this differently. Believe me I’ve been through the whole roller coaster of emotions from being happy as Larry one minute to **** me I’m a gonner. Be supportive, be there if they need someone to talk too & don’t let them feel that they are alone trying to get through this.

Good luck & feel free to PM me if you want to ‘talk’ to someone else.
