We had a great ride today on Dartmoor in what turned out to be fantastic warm sunny weather although it was a tad cold at 10.45am when we started.

Thanks once again to Knottie & Mark for coming all the way down to Princetown for a ride, John for the biggest laugh of the day & the guys for letting me tag along.

I should point out that when we said we were going down the Widowmaker Mark asked whether this was where all the punctures occur. No said Knottie & half a mile later – see pic above 🙂

Here are some more from the ride, like Knottie I too was into riding today rather than taking lots of pics.

    Mark salutes Knottie's fettling skills

    Mark riding along Groundhog Day

the lunch stop with a great view to both Burrator reservoir & Sheepstor

the finish back at the High Moorland visitors car park

I'm a summertime only commuter as the rural roads I have to use are far too dangerous in the dark winter months.

It's 15 miles in & 15 miles home. It takes 40mins by car & my best time in was 45mins on the bike with a force 10 gale up my chuff. It's more uphill on the way home & my best time was 59mins.

I rode the ridge trail for the first time on Jan 4th & it appeared to be intact. It was good fun & flowed really well. I'm not into the severe stuff but it had just enough scary stuff to get the heart racing. It was too snowy/icy/wet to ride any of the darkside however St Andrews lane was awesome – Woo Hoo !!!

So does that mean CFH is a Janner?

not unless he was born in Plymouth ?

I get the impression he is far too posh to be a Plymothian 😉

Blimey, is it possible for more to be going on than in crispybacons photo – sunset, sailing boat, clouds, a juggling tight-rope walker???

Cheers Rob – it was one of those right place – right time shots. It was taken at Mallory Square, Key West, USA. The guy was tight-rope walking left to right, the boat was sailing right to left & the pier post was stationary in the middle plus there was a crowd of people behind me & I couldn't move at all. They all came together at the same time with the sunset behind & click 😆 possibly the best pic I've ever taken.

wtf they are taxing me on money i am yet to earn!!!!?????

This is a payment on account for the following years tax bill (calculated as 50% of your current years bill) if you think you will not pay as much tax in the following year then you can ask for the payment(s) to be reduced.

I've got a Park Rescue Tool 3 & IMHO is a great piece of kit & has been very useful when I've needed to sort my bike out on the trail.

The original pads I got with my K24's didn't last very long & @ £16 for replacements I went to Superstar & got 4 x sets for £18 organic or £23 sintered.

Before the SSC haters come along I like them & I've not had any issues with the pads I've bought 🙂

Tyreinflators are where I buy in bulk cos it's cheaper. In fact I've used more CO2 carts on pumping up other riders tyres out on the trail than on my own bike 🙂

I rode the new Ridge Trail at Haldon last Monday week before all the snow & it was very good IMHO. Have a good one on Sunday & don't fall off 😕
