I live over the border in Pastyland but I save my pennies & use my passport to venture over to Da-Moor every now & again 😆

Foxyrider – I did a ride over to Bowerman's nose/Lustleigh Cleave/ Haytor on Saturday too. Fantastic weather & dry trails – well except the bw down to a bridge too far.

Going back for another ride there next Sunday starting from the Warren House Inn, I hope the dry weather holds out.

I spray the rails where they attach to the saddle with WD40 & it seems to do the trick.

HMRC have moved PAYE work all over the country, basically to where they have the staff to cope with the work. Anyway having your affairs being dealt with by HMRC in Scotland is not unusual.

You will need to send your details to them with confirmation of tax paid / overpaid i.e. form P60 & also request your repayment. This is a busy time of year for HMRC so it may sometime before you get your refund tho.

Payday has arrived so I've gladly made a donation to what is a great cause.

Will try to meet up with Team Fradgley when you get to Devon/Cornwall border to ride along until you drop me on the first hill 😥

a nickname given to me by my mate Drunken Duncan when we were training & ordering food at the pub. I always had a bacon sandwich & asked for the bacon to be crispy.

My alternative was going to be 'Ellsie' which is both my initials & also an anagram of my first name. 😆

    Hi Sharki

Great news that you are OK mate on your long walk, was getting a tad worried cos I/we hadn't heard anything from you for a while.

You know I'm in East Cornwall so when you get to Looe / Polperro get in touch via here or my mobi (I'll post my numbers on your fb ) or I'm in the phone book or via Knottie. You are more than welcome to stay the night or even a few days, free bed & board and you can bore show me your photies 😆

Kaysee – Orena45's route is a good one I've ridden that route a few times now. You can extend it past Henwood and around the back of Sharp Tor if you want a longer ride.

Sorry I haven't got a GPS track of the route I'm an OS Map-man myself 😆

To be honest there isn't a fantastic amount of routes up on Bodmin Moor or if there are I haven't found them yet.

Where exactly? Near the trail centre or further North? South?

My mate who lives in Cardiff is the local expert/guide for the ride but I believe that it's one of Scants routes in the hills round Cwmcarn. To be honest this will be my first time riding off piste at Cwmcarn.

My mate reackons that the natural stuff up there (if you know where to go) is better than the trail centre ……….. I'll let you know if it is after the weekend 🙂

Saturday – Breacon Beacons doing some or all of The Gap ride.

Sunday – Cwmcarn but the natural stuff not the XC/DH course

I've stayed at Base Lodge which is in Minehead, close to pubs/food & is fantastic value for money.

The owners are MTB'ers too & the place is biker friendly. Graham has ridden all over Exmoor & can provide route advice if necessary. As it's a hostel you will need to make your own breakfast or trot down to the cake shop.

MX5's are great cars to drive & in my experience very reliable. Mrs CB had a mk2 for 10 years & this year got a mk3.

You don't need a boot rack to take your bike ….

Most of the points you were asking about have been covered above.
