Excellent, turbine cranks ordered, used a new email to get new customers discount so 86 quid! Bargain. Need to order chainring now, snaggletooth any good?

That’s even better then actually. Gives me the option for both. shouldn’t be an issue with chainring following frame because of the design of the orange, the chainstay is well up out of the way. This is looking the best option for sure, otherwise is changing bb and then using 24mm crankset

Also, back wheel is non boost hope tech enduro with the boost adaptor kit fitted. Will the turbine cranks with direct mount effectively be boost set up? Was hoping to use non boost crankset as it should give a better chainline?

Seems to be conflicting info about the cinch cranks fitting the hope bb? Heard some people needing to play with spacers to get it right?

Yep, realised the error if my ways. Spesh is a 73 mm bb shell, which is what I looked at, but if course there are no external cups to add, so my current crankset won’t fit my new orange. Another purchase to be made then!!

Orange sell the neoprene cover, but doesn’t list as for the stage? May just go the tube route then, that worked perfectly on the spesh

Packing out the sides or the channel?

I have stuck sone stans in the tube which has actually sealed the puncture, so maybe that will suffice. The tyre sits really loose so can’t packing it out making a lot if difference tbh. I’m sure I read somewhere that I could use 26″ downhill tubes?

What I thought tbh, lad is gutted!!

Agree with the hardtail, but he really wants a full suss and tbh if it provides nothing more than a placebo effect then it’s worth it to keep his interest. Saw a lad who looked about the same height at cannock today riding a small looking orange five. Could have been woman specific. Looks good though.

Yeah, not expecting a miracle with the oval ring , but can’t hurt really?!

I’ll order one , it us the original from the bike which is 2015!  Hopefully that is it. May try an oval ring whilst I’m at it

It is sram x1 cranked with x sync ring.  Has a gx cassette and kmc chain. It is a narrow wide ring but I thought it only went on in one position? Maybe I do have it wrong then?

I dud think chainring as it’s the original one . Was starting to get noisy on the other chain and cassette but would quiet down when clean and lubed.  May order a new chainring see if that helps .

Excellent,  they are a bargain at the moment,  will get some ordered

I havent really explained , I currently have the sram 11 speed stuff on my specialised enduro . Tell cassette is stuck on the xd driver as the splines have all snapped off. The bearings are buggered in the freehub. I don’t think I can change the bearings with the cassette stuck on? It means I need a new cassette,  nee driver , bearings in hub as well. Looking like a dear do. I have seen a couple of wheels on eBay that come with the standard type freehub. I’m thinking then for just the price of a non xd cassette I’m up and running again ?

Would that work with standard derailleur though?

Good .I was hoping it was going to be nice and simple. I’ve had a quick look and the genuine sram/ royal freehub is £90!!! I’m assuming any xd dt Swiss driver would fit? Is it also possible that the bearings in the freehub could be to blame ? The cassette rotates fine once moving, it is noisy when coasting and is notch on the initial rotation? I have removed the non drive side cap, how do I then remove cassette and freehub assembly?  Cheers, Chris

Yikes, £16! Think I’ll just leave the remote in place with cable attached to stop any water/dirt ingress.

I seem to have read that the addix aren’t as good as the originals?

I was using the chunky monkey this year, found it terrible when it rained. Ground was bone dry and very hard before hand. Once it rained, was slick slimy mud on top. I had zero grip

Yeah, pissed down and morzine / super morzine became slick as. Not sure I’d fit a 2.6 in tbh

That’s what I was expecting, but the bearing is sitting against what looks like an alloy lip that seems to be the same diameter as the bearing?

I think it is, I’m hoping to do some of the other stuff as well as the bike Park/ downhill stuff so pedalling will be required. Think I may leave the combo on then and take spares in case, see how I get on

I have the 2015 enduro elite. Agree with above, it does feel a short bike and for some reason I’ve never gelled with it. It is a very good bike, I’m faster everywhere and it tackles anything I can ride. I think some of the issue for me us that 160mm travel on a 29 er is too much for 90% of my riding. Ut kinda makes things too safe? I had a on one codeine beforehand which I loved, wished I’d replaced it with another really. However, I took a look and they are not as well equipped anymore.

The binding thing could be overcome with a bit of copper grease maybe?

As s side note, is there any reason I can’t use it still, but tighten by screwing it in? Or will it just work loose?

Even better, it’s 28 quid at Evans

Cheers! I’m thinking that with no moving parts it should be bombproof! As long as it isn’t over tight

Cheers guys, as I feared it seems that you have to spend a fair to get something half way decent.

Is it possible to try swapping wheels/ axles over to eliminate this possibility? Had a similar noise for ages with my last pikes and turned out to be slight play on the axle

I had one ( also stolen) and did love it. I am 6 ft dead and went for a medium. Was fine everywhere but felt a little cramped on climbs. Would have liked to have ridden a large fir comparison. I’m thinking of replacing with another when my insurance money arrives. Not much else with tgat spec for that money

I’m tempted by the jekyll 4, loads of bike fir the money. However, has anyone found any decent long term reviews of how the shock performs? Reliability etc
