Any traffic violation would see the suspension or removal of the passport as well as criminal proceedings were necessary.

    Like a driving license?

I can see at least one other pair of forks in the photo above.

Dont know how the girlfriend would feel about me taking her forks, and dont know how a stumpjumper fsr would ride with a 100mm womens specific fork on the front!Could be interesting!

Yeah top of the left hand leg. Sorry picture is rubbish but this is what it like now, I found the cap and the rod had completely flown out so I stuck it back in for the purpose of not losing it. As I compress the forks the oil comes squirting out once the rod flys out again.

Slight Hi-jack (sorry) gravity-slave – where abouts were these downhill tracks? Would they be rideable for the not so hardcore like myself (as in no massive drops and massive gaps etc)?

M_F – Osborne Road in Jesmond is the ‘student street’ i should think youre on about. Finished 5 glorious years at uni there last summer. Returning for a big one tomorrow night.

Ollie – I wouldnt be too worried about dressing up, between the Stag dos and Students they never turn away fancy dress really.

I reckon the best thing is to tap the brake pedal just enough to flash the lights with one’s left foot a few times.

I think its a bit OTT to know the number of people, age and sex ov ervery member of every car around you on the road.

If youre driving along a motorway there are numerous cars around you at any point that could potentially affect your driving and to look for all the attributes of the people in the car would require you to take your mind off the driving youre actaully doing. Theres no way you could just glance at every car around you an know.

I do understand the rough sentiment of it though.

At the same time sitting on a non crowded train can have a value attached to it, compared to the stress of driving.

There is the opposite to this too. If i was to commute by train I would have to stand up for an hour squeezed into an overcrowded carriage. This would not only take longer but be more stressful than driving IMO.

Thanks for all the information so guys. A lot to think about so far.

Will try get as many miles under my belt as possible in the coming weeks. Might think about swapping the gym sessions for spinning, would that be a good idea?

Thanks for all the food and stratergy advice, thats the bit im really unsure of. I was thinking just taking water bottle with nuun tablet in for riding and then eat properly between stints. Guess it will be a good idea to have some extra energy on me in the latter stages incase i start to bonk. I have tried sis gels and those powershot things and they didnt really sit well with me, things like nutrigrain bars I find much easier, is there anything similar to them I should look at or will 1 of them do?

    Cheers

Last car I bought I was out driving for 30mins and then my girlfriend had another 30mins, good variety of roads mind, country windy, motorway, towns etc. I felt that was enough.

Girlfriends dad has just had an M3 for 3 days on a test drive though so I guess it varies a bit.

I have a friend with two adult children, both in their twenties. Both of them live at home full-time, together with their respective partners. All four contribute nothing.

Maybe theyre trying to save for a deposit? Its so hard to save for a deposit whilst renting somewhere now a days. Maybe if the parents cant help them with the deposit they might let them live at home rent free to save up some money to move out?

Although if they are comntributing NOTHING like shopping, cooking, cleaning etc then probably is a bit off.

I cremated my face on a ski trip a few years ago. It was so bad that they gave me some cream to make the skin peel off quicker and tablets to make the swelling go down! It started cracking and bleeding everytime I moved my mouth. Worst of all the cream meant I couldnt go outside to ski and the tablets meant I couldnt drink any alcohol, not cool at the British Universities Ski Champs!

Im always a bit more cautious especially when abroad in strong sun.

I had it rebuilt 2 months ago and it’s already gone to pot! Riding is all sorts really, from 2-3 hour xc rides around west pennine moors through to the odd bit of blasting around trail centres, a few drops etc. (nothing overly gnarly) hoping to take it out to the alps at some point too.
Think the xm719 would be good then if the weight difference isn’t noticable! Cheers

I did wonder why there was a portable cafe up at the top as I rode through last night!
Its amazing how dry everything is round there at the moment, even the bumpy track around to belmont road is almost dry at the moment!
