Yep, my wife’s not too impressed though as I haven’t moved off the sofa all day. Track champs, then Paris Roubaix and then the GP.

Gutted for Luthi; not that I’m a fan I just think that MMs move was out of order and dangerous. He had absolutely nowhere to go. I thing MM needs to be reined in a little before he takes someones’ wheel off (ignoring what he did to Willairot).

Some amazing talent coming in to Moto 2 this year, but I just can’t get used to the noise of the Moto3 bikes. I miss the 2 strokes 🙁

Great battle with Cal and Dovi, just gutted for Ellison and Rea that they have such relative sheds underneath them.

I tried calling CRC to find out about an Intense frame they had on offer and couldn’t get through so I emailed them. It took over two working days to get a response which is pretty crap and in the mean time the frame was sold.

Pretty unimpressed with them at the moment. After the credit card fiasco last year. Merlin get most of my business at the moment and I’ll try and buy elsewhere if possible.

Used openpistemap / openstreetmap on my 800 and they work really well.

Hadn’t tried openMTBmap as I’ve got 1:50 OS on the garmin but will take a look at that – cheers.

Gobi / XM – OK but not for a long ride

SLR flows (various) – my fave, especially the Kit Carbonio. Despite the looks and minimalist construction I find them really comfy.

    Boardman – Awful (replaced),

old Flite – Still like it,

Old bontrager ti – like a lifelong friend.

I’ve got a variety of xtr cantis kicking around and I’d take a disc brake every time. I don’t think any of my disks are “soft squidge”.

Lots melting right now in the white peak (literally) but we have some deep drifts that will take a couple of days to clear. It’s a stunning day today though.

Carre Neige would seem a bit pointless (I don’t think it is) if the Gov pick up S&R and evac costs?

Basically you need to make sure you’re covered to get you located, evaced and for any private (probably in resort) treatment. EHIC only covers treatment in state hospitals, and you can’t tell the helo pilot / pisteur to drop you at the hospital of your choice.

Snowheads would be the place to ask.

It’s certainly worth asking the interviewer/selector for some feedback. Just try to do it in a more humble fashion than the way you are coming across here.

That is the way to approach it. If you’re going to “speak up” I’d 1) make sure you have some evidence over emotion 2) still do it as above.

If you’ve got 1000 employees your interviewer will hit the HR panic button and it’ll get very formal very quickly. I’ve seen lots of candidates believe they’re the number one option only to have the rug pulled from under them. Interviews and outcomes are based on more than your “qualifications”; even in the broadest sense. It’s a hard pill to swallow.

Cheap Merc estates on leasing? A guy over on the Merc forum has posted today about his new car being delivered £457.49 plus VAT a month for 36months 15K…………………not so cheap……………but OK for a C63 AMG estate

Tony can you point me to that thread? That sounds incredible. There must have been a big “deposit”?

I am not a web designer and marketeers may say Ling’s site is well constructed (hello Ling, nice stalking!) but my eyes keep telling my brain something different.

Now a marketeer would say run another or a number of sites to appeal to those who don’t want eye bleach, though I might put on some polarised Oakleys and dare to venture back there 🙂

few lads i know have taken theirs off early, without any problems.

    just a thought really.

Do you think often? I’d ease off if I were you 😆

2 more weeks in a pot vs potentially screwing up your ankle. Tough call.

I got my Kelly Green from CRC last year. No seat collar in the box, and a bit of a small paint swirl on one of the tubes but for the price I can’t complain. The paint itself seems pretty tough.

Small frames have no seat tube brace.

I think it’s brilliant. It reinforces how slow I am and how much fitter I need to be. I have one KOM, shame I’m the only person to have ridden it.

If it doesn’t make your head explode, Lings Cars is very good (and hilariously bonkers)

    http://www.lingscars.com/

Is that site for real? It’s not ironic, or retro; it’s just a nausea inducing mess.

    + shipping
+ import duty (14%? on components – though google for an answer)
    + “handling fee” – £20 or so
    + VAT @ 20% on the lot

You may not get hit by VAT or import duty if you’re lucky – just factor in having to pay it.

Jensons, Cambria… there are loads of good shops who export.

Savings are pretty marginal usually unless you find a bargain. You can’t “avoid” them, and if you use a good bike shop they’ll use a good shipping company who’ll “manage” the import process.

The alternative is get a flight and have a big suitcase.

Wrighty, I’m a few miles away and the (a) Chinook has been flying over our village regularly – including tonight. Weirdly the noise was drowned out by a low flying twin prop. Last year we had an apocalypse now re-enactment with lots of Apaches, Chinooks and other copters.

Renton, nice redaction, the MoD will be proud.

Buy it. If I were buying a Ti keeper (mountain bike in fairness) it’d be an Eriksen or a Potts. It’ll take quite a while to arrive. Don’t forget to factor in UPS delivery charge ( Haggis can probably confirm) and import Duty / VAT if you’re going direct. His waiting list will have probably gone up again after NAHBS.

If you’ve got the bits try it. I’m running 150 Revs on mine and it’s hardly twitchy combined with a 55mm stem and some Haven bars.

I love mine – it’s now my regular ride.

I’m 5 10 and ride a M. With the 55mm stem it’s “compact”, but I like that. I’d have thought a Large would be a better fit for you.

I finished all the main quests bar a bugged silverhand one which stopped the line progressing any further. It also got way too easy towards the end & I then got bored. I also needed one stone for the thieves guild – I suppose I should finish that.

It’s one of the few games I’ve played recently and I really enjoyed it. Might go back to it when the DLC appears.

Agree on the assassins guild; that, along with freeing the city were the best quest lines for me.

Only ever had a problem with (2) horse riders in over 20 years. One who felt they owned the (very wide) trail and couldn’t understand why someone would want to pass, the other (last weekend funnily enough) was just ignorant and rude.

Best value indoor toys our kids had in terms of fun and the amount they played with them were:

    Brio (style) trainset
    Lego (duplo really at 3)
Wheelybug (you need wooden floors and not to care about your skirting boards)
Cheap Aldi / Lidl balance bike
    Garage and cars

Interesting looking at those architect’s renders. Is that kind of roof (casting different light patterns) typical? If I was using the courts in the centre it would drive me mad. Must be function over form and the real thing would get something more practical?

Fantastic news. It’s just a shame it’s on Pride Park as that’s a congested area for a whole set of other reasons.

Does the UK really need 6 covered velodromes?

Why not? If it’s sustainable (I’m sure there’s a business plan behind this). I will be buying a cheap track bike!

Very low speed incident on a boardwalk.

Broke my ankle / leg in 4 places, rearward dislocation and torn ligaments.

Got back on the bike and rode out of the forest using 1 leg.
Got in the car and drove for an hour (it’s an auto)
Crawled from the car and had a cup of tea at home.
Got taken in to hospital by the wife.
Cue morphine, and a week in hospital before they could operate as it was so swollen.

    MTFU 🙂

Fascinating, thanks for sharing. That Salmon pink has been on the protein powder, it really needs a leash.

The enclosures look neat – borderline shed porn.

Motorolla Xoom. Had mine for ages now and I think it’s a great bit of kit. HUKD had a deal on yesterday – 275 I think. Works great with Diceplayer, and only struggles with 60FPS HD on occasion.

Had a play around with it last night on a tablet pc. Metro doesn’t seem too responsive, thought that’s probably down to the VM and hardware. Can’t say I’m sold yet.

Brilliant thread, inventive genius at its best. I feel some cooking coming on this weekend but the pie needs a fried egg on top 🙂

The full English pasty sounds like the ultimate beach-side meal. Get it done!

Eric’s Cafe near Tremadog did / does a mean breakfast. You need it after a night in one of the camping barns.

If you go for the towbar option you won’t be able to open the tailgate (even with one of the Thules that lift). However, there is one model and I can’t think what it’s called that slides the rack away from the ball when you need to open the door. It was about 300 IIRC, possibly a German company. I’ll ask the wife later. That’s what we’ll be going for.

Edit: Forget all that it’s the Atera Strada
