Pete, if the lap isn’t on the results he looses the bragging rights – “it never happened” 😆

Thanks for the post. I have a DHD and was considering the same upgrade – Battery life was the winner over the X for me, and the camera is my one real gripe against the DHD.

I’d read about a problem with the buttons which could be HW related, but not the issues above.

Surely the screen is a lot better than the DHD once it’s rendered the image or vid?

Hmm looks like “wiggle woodland” is just a slog along that miserable muddy track rather than diving off in to the woods themselves. I hope not.

Hoping the jump of doom or whatever it was will make a return. The course needs some more features.

I have the 800 with the 1:50k OS maps. If you plan a route it’s hard to get lost in a new area. I’ve used it lots to check if I’ve missed my turn (when not using a route and turn indicators).

Screen size isn’t great but is usable for emergency navigation checks (I know that’s what a map is for).

I think they are a brilliant piece of kit.

No, but I work with someone who does! I don’t work in TV either. That means there are at least two-such people out there.

Got a GPS? I can send you a 35 mile loop from Parwich.

    Basically:
    Parwich
    Royston Grange
    High Peak trail to Longcliffe
    Rainster Rocks
    Brassington
    Back on to the HPT
    North to Griffe Grange
    Grangemill
    Wensley ^ Snitterton
    Bonsall
    Cromford
    Wirksworth
    HPT back

You can cut short or extend to suit but basically you’re riding from your door.

To comment on the above – Marquez can’t get a seat in the factory Honda team next year unless there is a rule change. Rookie riders are not allowed to go straight into the official factory teams.

There’s nothing stopping him joining a satellite team that’s factory in all but name though. He will want and get the support from Honda when he moves, and Repsol won’t want their star on a shed.

Gresini have normally filled that role but they could (would probably) get even more factory support.

I’d see Luthi going to Repsol over Bautista – for marketing, sponsorship as well as talent reasons.

I’d also like to see Vale head back to Honda and ditch the Duc!

Public service award coming your way. Not exactly a model but he could be the face of a poster campaign.

Amazed no one saw fit to restrain him though.

Sounds similar to my experiences. Triple nano Nics need quite a bit of Sealant IME – they’re pretty porous tire with lots of micro holes that the sealant goes about filling.

Much less apparent on the thicker (heavier) UST Nics.

I managed to rip a tread block off a non UST Nic the other day causing a total blow out. Never done that on any tire before.

Thomas Frischknecht was featured on the coverage of the recent UCI XC world cups. He was managing one of the teams IIRC.

In the early 90’s people didn’t ride with clogs, they used these. Where did I put those spikes?

Done. There’s also a facebook “like” for those who don’t want to type anything. PLEASE CLICK IT and spread the word.

I was following it on Twitter this morning.

“With power comes responsibility” – Derby Tory leader, Philip Hickson, tells Labour to decide whether to build a velodrome or not.

Whilst true, adding the words “loss” “abdication” and “of” are even more relevant. That’s pretty low of the outgoing council to hand it over in that manner. They clearly don’t want to be reminded of it in 4 years if it fails.

    Err, it’s a Xoom not a Zoom.

Had mine for about 18 months. Brilliant bit of kit, and for 250 it’s hard to go wrong.

The Motorola case is on offer at the moment, and pretty good but can be uncomfortable to hold. I had a leather one which was nicer to hold, but the proper Motorola one has better protection. (though you can’t charge with the case closed.

If you think it’s laggy, just tap the edge (L or R) of the screen rather than swipe it.

Mine’s wifi only, and I just tether it if I need 3g.

John Kirkham going into the airfence over Clay Hill in the superbike race was pretty harsh aswell…..

That was one of the scariest crashes I’ve seen (though I’ve not watched the Wainwright one). I was sure he wasn’t going to get up from it and thought he’d just go under the fence following the bike in. The fact he was being interviewed later the same day about it is mind blowing. One very lucky fella.

I thought Melandri was going to be in a bad way after his massive highside and getting his foot stuck under the bike at Imola as well.

…then they added tax the sneaky blighters. Didn’t spot that at the start.

They have a rubbish checkout page in the way they show the VAT breakdown. If you check the total they aren’t adding VAT to the published item price – the only additional bit of vat you’re paying is on the 4.99 delivery, though it certainly gives the appearance that they are now adding an additional VAT amount for the item (they aren’t, as the item price is inc VAT).

Just tot up the Subtotal and compare to the price you’re paying at the bottom.

I seem to remember they said they said they’d stop it. Someone needs to tie the bus plan back to the “growth” objective.

    Bang on.

I have a 24, but then I have no skills. Will be putting my son’s flite junior in the classifieds soon as well for those looking for a bike for their kids.

Whilst kallio’s Ice racing flashback was pretty impressive, the save of the day was in Moto3

Full on Mamola style run with the bike through the gravel only to then bin it immediately as the rear hit the paint on the kerb. He was in second or third at the time IIRC. Danny Webb was doing amazingly well until the Mahindra packed up close to the finish. That would have been a solid points performance for them and it won’t come quite so easy on a dry track.

Crutchlow did amazingly well but I was convinced he was going to either bin it or drop someone on the first two laps. Spies in in a low place at the moment. HE’s a great rider so I can’t see Yam ditching him just yet; though if Cal and Dovi carry on ahead of him you never know.

Gutted for Ellison, he was doing OK ’till the retirement. It would be great to see him get a point and De Puniet who was doing a great job ’till he ran out of fuel.

Yep, just don’t over do it, though it sounds like you already have. I did and it swelled up again and was v painful for a week or so; as well as popping some stiches.

Turbo trainer on a v easy spin is also good for improving flexion (as are heel raises), but getting on and off is “fun”. I wouldn’t try it on your own.

Yep, that’s just about every combination and permutation covered.

I’m not convinced there’s a market that will allow you to make money / a sustainable margin. Up to 600 you’re competing with mass market frames. Over 1000 it’s custom. That 600-1000 area is too expensive for those looking at perfectly good off the shelf Taiwan made steel, and probably not “custom” enough for those who were prepared to spend over 1000.

You’d need some USP to pull people from either end. Not sure what that is. Having said that, Speedvagen have got it off to a tee – and at a premium price.

The best I’ve used is the Billion 7800n. Not cheap but if you’re a tinkerer, or have high attenuation on the line this one can be tuned to get the max out of it. Netgear routers have always been flaky in my experience, though hacked firmware like DGteam’s can improve it (an 834n).

Nice vid. One of the best single man efforts I’ve seen. Watching it live I thought he was mad going alone at 50km; but what do I know. I’m not surprised they couldn’t bring him back if he was doing 52Kph at that stage of the race.

Done, though I wasn’t really sure where you were going with it. By including Footpaths in the questionaire you’re going to skew your results – you need to exclude FP’s from all the qualitative questions about experience and improvement – and maybe ask the obvious question of change of use from FP to BW to improve the network for mountain bikes / cyclists in general.

My father in law had it for a while before he got sky. It worked well but the non HD channels were a bit blocky on a larger LCDs. That was a couple of years ago though so it may have improved. Certainly usable though, and a lot cheaper than a Sky sub.

I tried it when abroad to watch a Moto GP race – but it only seems to work if your coming through a UK ISP ( as per the iPlayer). I didn’t bother trying to redirect so YMMV.
