I did get mine to improve considerably (from about 1.8 MB/s by

Removing the bell wire
Fitting a NTE5/a (which negates the bell wire fix IIRC)
Buying a Billion Bipac 7800n
Changing the SNR ratio setting on the Billion (currently 6, default is -1)

Each of these made an improvement and I did have the “leaps” in performance written down somewhere but I can’t find them. If you’ve not done the above (the first two are free / cheap) it’s worth googling as they’re very simple to do. YMMV

More good news, Webb has got himself a contract with a team who’s bikes are capable of scoring points. It’ll be tough up against Alex Marquez though in the same garage.

Misano was a great podium just to see Bautista up there for all the right reasons. The Duc has had some fairly significant parts so there could be an underlying improvement there as well rather than it just being testing and attrition. Considering how JR rides his WSB which always seems to want to tuck the front yet he manages to save it, the grip / no grip on a GP bike is something he’s probably better able to deal with more than most.

Bradl is proving his class as well. Biggest disappointment this year for me is Terol. What’s happened to him?

Itv 4 stick loads of cycling on the tv and all folk on here can do is complain.

Their coverage of most things this year has been good, though the images available are down to the TV production team rather than the broadcasting channel. The coverage of the ToB has seemed amateur in parts by comparison. They’re obviously on a budget with the number of available cameras (3 moto, one feature and a heli); it’s just a shame that most of the poor direction has happened near the finish line.

The revelation for me last night was Geoff Banks. He was lurking a couple of shows ago but he’s obviously nuts about cycling.

Ignoring the penny farthing, pointless bike “folding” and the bike blogger interview (I think that just leaves the sofa chat) it was a marked improvement.

Froome looked mightily impressive. No panic just up the cadence. Made me chuckle with Bertie’s constant checking to see if he’d dropped him.

Arm and leg warmers for me, and the wife got some shorts and a jacket. Pretty good deals.

All I know is that child exploitation works! We watched the hockey in the morning then my son and I loitered outside the track for 15 mins with a “looking for tickets” sign when a very nice New Zealand guy offered us 2 tickets. 😀

It made our day (well my year really) . A brilliant atmosphere in the arena and some good motos. It’s such a shame that both finals were disappointing for Reade & Phillips but they both got huge support. Top that off with a wander around the velodrome and that we were on the TV loads. Just a fantastic day out 😀

If she was on the fighting form she says, it does seem strange that they didn’t rotate Trott out of a round or two to keep her fresh for the Omnium.

Having nominated Jackson, how could I forget about the missing Chuckle Brother triplet, Rob Walker. Over enthusiastic to the point he’s permanently reaching a crescendo. Thankfully the rest of that team has been really good.

I’d also add my (positive) support for the Country file guy doing the gymnastics, and the Aussie guy doing the hockey. The difference is that they comment on the sport they see before them, not what they imagine is unravelling emotionally.

Likewise I think Logan’s doing a good job holding the highlights show together. I kept wondering why their evening show sofa was over run with Americans at the start of the games, but it’s because they actually have an opinion, and are prepared to voice it rather than sit on the fence of banality.

After getting sick of using CoPilot on my phone which was really unreliable I have bought a Garmin in the last month. I wish I’d done it ages ago. I’m really impressed with the 3590LMT, the only downside was the cost of the unit, but also their add-ons. Traffic is £20 PA!

You aren’t. Brilliant song. What got me down though was working out 5 minutes later that the (oxymoronic) researcher had just typed “ride” in to spotify and also decided that The Vines “Ride” (equally good) was another suitable song. He or she will run out of ideas soon at that rate.

I know it’s a rest day tomorrow but a individual TT performance like Wiggo’s is going to have an impact when they hit the hills from Wednesday.

It will definitely be a tag team attack, just like they used to on Armstrong. Can’t wait as it should make for really good racing.

Just to confuse you, I’m 5 10 with a M. I dropped to a 55 stem and after a bit of adjustment I love it. It did feel too short to begin with but on anything that goes downhill its brilliant with some havens.

Smalls don’t have the seat tube brace either.
