whatever you use make sure sure it’s in your camel/seat pack.

There’s no point using a 2ft long lever in the garage if the only tyre lever you carry on a ride is the 2″ long bendy plastic one on a multi-tool.

what bag to carry track pump?

Hibike good on price but useless on service. Cancelled my order with them as it took them forever to process the order so ordered with bike components instead who price matched hibike. Received 2 days later. At the time they were under £425

yes an its a lot worse than that. Ive had the non-Evo axles fail twice but not the Evo versions (yet-it’s been over 2 years)

Same happened to me when I followed the MBR video. I now assemble with air in the chamber and spring fully extended.

No hidden valve on the pikes. Where is the hole that will be blocked? Where do I access it from?

Theres a groove on the inside of the lowers (air spring side) which can sometimes get blocked with grease. Its only about 5mm long so quite easy not to notice it

I just use the open end of a spanner or 24mm socket and a cheap set of circlip pliers from screwfix

I have fork lock out and reverb remote on same side (left hand side, 1×10 so no front shifter lever). If there was a cheap and easy way to ditch the fork lock out remote id hve ditched it, mainly because i rarely use it and cant see any benefits from having a remote lockout. Both fit well and easy enough to reach on the bars though. Reverb remote closest to the grip as that gets used a lot more often

Go to ‘applications’ on their website and select the roof type / application that matches yours the best, then select thickness and size required. There wont be much difference between the thermal properties of different types ( for a given thickness)

Worked for me in the past. They soon take notice when payments aren’t made.

Rather than claiming rent back, just stop paying it until work is done to an acceptable standard

When i was looking to buy a camera a couple years back i was advised (rightly or wrongly) to avoid them. Bought from hdew in the end which had similar prices.

Have had no issues performance wise with all my reverbs and other than a squirt of fork juice they’ve had no service whatsoever. You can get good deals on them if not in a rush. Ive paid between £130 and £160 for mine. Wouldn’t want to ride without them now

based on the forks ive had the RS (Pikes) are better in terms of cost, performance and looks. Having said that they’re going off for warranty after xmas whereas the Fox’s had no issues in 4 years use with minimal maintenance

best advice I can give is to strip your bike down and rebuild from scratch (or build a new one from scratch). The only bit of bike building / maintenance I don’t do myself is building wheels, and I’ll be having a go at that myself next time

With my limited knowledge i think the groove that transfers air between the two chambers might be blocked with grease. You may need to get the air shaft out which is a simple job and clear any grease. You may also want to try pulling on the lowers to extend them fully. If you do a google search youll find a fair bit on this subject

Edit. Im assuming its sitting in 30% of travel when no rider on bike

Im pretty sure they come with the bolt and square nut your talking about otherwise i would have had to get them separately when i changed my brakes and shifter (which i cant remember doing)

another killer combo is welsh cakes, thick layer of butter and very thin slices of cheddar cheese.

Has to be proper welshcakes not the shit covered in sugar that you buy from shops

I have the V4’s and they are awesome IMO and noticeably more powerful then the V2’s they replaced and way better than the XT’s on my other bike. Not tried the E4’s so don’t know how they compare to them.

I run my 2012 Five with a 160mm Deville and offset bushings. Its ace but I’d quite fancy shoving a slackset in too, just to see what it felt like!

How’s the lower BB working out for you with the bushes? They were my first thought, but the angleset messes with everything (seat angle, etc) a touch less so started heading down that route

Im running a 2011 five with offset bushings and 160mm pikes. Cant say ive noticed any issues with lower bb. Bike feels so much better for the riding I now do, although the front end is noticeably lighter on climbs but that’s a small sacrifice to pay for getting it spot on for the descents

It’s just me that thinks they look pants then? The first photo in this thread Nice, crisp lines of the SRAM chainring and then this lump of alloy that looks like it’s come off a Halfords BSO.

Agree with you. I think they look cheap
