Fox Digit gloves. Still going strong after 2 years of saving my palms from being shredded. Really comfortable too and not badly priced (£22ish)

I thought that too as they’re a lot cheaper than the 26″ black chilli.

I don’t. It’s just not mountain biking and dosen’t appeal to me.

If you liked the rubber queens on 26″ why not get the 29″ version?

Nacked mine last week LBS said 150 quid to replace and there is no way I ride it that hard. It is on an orange 5 with maxle and only 18 months old

as well as replacing your hub axle free of charge your LBS should also swap your Maxle for the newer version free of charge too. They will send it off to Fishers. (assuming you have the older Maxle version)

I destroyed brand new pads (Hope V2, organic) in two rides, total 65km around the Black Mountains last week so I think your doing ok considering your in the Alps. Having said that my previous pads lasted 18 months. Try sintered if you haven’t already?

Just called into my lbs to see if they had a replacement axle and they said they’d replace it foc and upgrade the rock shox axle foc too. Not bad considering I bought the bike over 2 years ago.

Why £150 to fix when axle replacement is £15 ish or was that for the retrofit north wind was talking about?

Funny you should say that. Broke mine tonight. There’s an old thread on here about it somewhere

    Edit: Old thread here

Supply and demand I guess. Prices will continue to stay high/ increase if people keep buying them. Plenty of alternatives though.

I’ve got a 32gb 3G enabled but have never got round to getting a sim for it as most places I use it will have a wifi connection available or as above can be tethered to iPhone (or just use iPhone). Memory wise I think 32 gb is plenty as you can delete films you’ve watched etc. got all my music on my iPod so don’t need it on my iPad.

I’m not bothered about the weight saving. I want to reduce/eliminate pinch flats which happen too often these days even though I run my tyre pressure quite high compared to most on here.

I injured my shoulder snowboarding over 18 months ago. It hurt quite bad but not enough to mess up the rest of the snowboarding holiday. I didn’t go to get it checked up but I suspect its a AC injury and although its healed enough for me to mountain biking theres still a massive lump there and it dosent take much of a fall before it gets sore again. Also sometimes painful if I sleep on it funny. I’m seeing a physio about it next week to see if theres any excercises I can do to strengthen it

You’ll figure it out when you install it. You’re unlikely to use everything tho

I live in a flat which means that the bike lives in the bedroom/lounge so needs a quick clean after most rides. I use a mobi washer which I keep in the boot of the car and the bike gets a quick hose down after a ride when muck is still wet and easy to get off. Gets it clean enough to keep the gf happy.

Camelbak mule for the last 3 years. Just the right size, comfy and will happily buy another when the time comes

2012 model, had it for around 18 months now with no problems at all. Broke the barb on remote end during a crash but was cheap and easy fix. Couldn’t do without it now

Cwmcarn XC and downhill. Then explore the woods round Cwmcarn, Abercarn and Machen or try and get a ride to Afan. I would offer to meet up with you for Cwmcarn on Sat and Afan Sunday but it’s the Mrs’s birthday so I’ve been told I have other prioraties

Ok different story if your racing, I didn’t consider that as I don’t race myself. Ok so if you ride in conditions or places where a better tyre would be advantageous have two or three sets, that should cover most situations but I can’t see the need to have a shed full of tyre choices unless racing. But each to their own, maybe I’m missing out

I only have one set of tyres, the ones that come with the bike. Might not have the best tyres to suit the conditions but so what if I lose some grip from time to time? Adds to the fun. I’ve thought about getting more tyres but I wouldn’t know where to start looking/ choosing. I just go out and ride and don’t have to worry about what tyres for what trail for what weather etc

Of course you can haggle! why wouldn’t you? My brothers a car salesman and he says theres different tiers of price reduction. For example, (made up numbers) the first £500 might come off the manufacturers’ profit, the next £500 off the dealers profit, the next £250 off the salesman commission. And if the customer is still pushing hard he can reduce the price further but may need to speak to manufacturer for approval as the bonus system they have can be complex. And then after youve had your discounts push for a full tank of fuel, mats, service etc.

I must be in a different Cornwall to some of you above. Been here last 4 days and apart from some very light short showers it’s been gorgeous. Currently eating croissants outside on the terrace after a walk along the beach. Yesterday was a very sunny day and I even caught the sun. Forecast light showers later tho 🙁

@ Kryton… I’d be cautious of buying from SLRhut. I came accross them a few weeks ago and having done some background research on them failed to find any good reviews for them. They say they are based in London but that statement is a little missleading. I bought from HDEW instead. They are based in the UK, still sell grey imports but great service and prices were similar to slrhut

Easy to fit as long as you have the right tools and parts. You may need shorter/longer chain ring bolts

I recently baught a dslr and some lenses from HDEW cameras. By far the cheapest prices but I think they are grey imports so it’s up to you to decide if that’s something you’d consider

I’ve got a Topeak (dunno which one) but it’s small, light and pumps up a flat in no time.
