You could build up a nice new niner air 9 (alloy) for that and have change. Spend a little more and you could build up the carbon frame. Ive got the alloy and its very nice

Ive got the Havoc alu bar on one bike and Haven carbon on another. Can’t say I notice any difference, and unless you rode with rigid forks I’d be surprised if anyone could tell the difference

PS very happy with both of mine.

I had my first tubeless puncture since ive converted this weekend. Nothing to do with the heat tho, the size in tyre wall was just too big to seal and in an awkward place for the sealant to get to. Still hoping to seal it at home tho when i can tilt the wheel at the right angle to get the sealant to it

I keep a mobi washer in the car (behing driver seat) and keep it topped up with water. The bike gets a quick hose down to get the worst off and a quick wipe down with a towel. The mrs seems happy enough for it to then come into the lounge (cream carpets). The bikes don’t need a hose down in this weather tho.

As far as maintenance, I chuck a rug down on the floor and carry out all my servicing (inc fork oil change, bleeding brakes, building new bike, setting up tubeless tyres) all in the comfort of the lounge. Only once has it not gone to plan where my bike tipped over and smashed an ornament (and nearly had the handlebar smash through the telly). oops

Although the mrs is very tolerant I cant wait till we buy a new man cave with house attached.

If they’re anything like flows you need to make sure the tyre beads sits in the dip in the rim so it’s slacker until you get the beads on all the way round. That make sense?

edit: as above, why not tubeless? They’re tight even without tubes!

Nothing particularly technical in CyB, but not as smooth as say the red in glentress.

Completely painless here. Cant understand those still running tubes but obviously some dont get on with them

I’ve got hope (v2’s) on one bike with 203 rotors and the new xt’s on another bike with 203 f and 180 r. Performance wise there both very similar. Both have lots of power although have a different feel. I’d be happy to buy either again on future although the cheapness of the xt makes them the best value of the two but the hopes look and feel a lot nicer if you want to splash out.

I’ve had no issues with the reliability of the hopes. Only been bled a couple of times in the 3 years I’ve had them.

As far as I know the black dashed lines are not rights of way if that’s what your asking? Not saying I wouldn’t ride them though

I recently built up my first bike. It was a LOT easier than I anticipated. I did everything myself in the end, although I planned on taking it to LBS for things like forks. Rear mech only takes 5 mins if you follow a simple logical order. Installed a new shifter on my other bike and that was just as easy so proved it wasn’t a fluke.

As long as you have the right tools or suitable bodge methods (eg home made bearing presses etc) it will be easy and enjoyable.

If your near Carmarthen then I’d do Brechfa. Quick blast round green and blue for warm up- hit them at speed and its a super rollacoster.

And then black or red or combine both for a longer ride.

what crankset have you got? If standard shimano type you’ll need a chainring that has 104mm BCD.

You can get them from Shimano, Hope, Straitline, E-thirteen etc loads of choice.

what would I do? I’d have bought the components from LBS / online and fitted myself. But yeah I wouldn’t be happy with that service

I don’t have tubeless specific rims or tyres but all mine have been easy, zero faff to set up. Takes no longer than using a tube. Maybe I’m lucky with tyre rim combo. Not had a single puncture since converted and would never even consider going back to tubes.

Wished everyone on our group ride would convert to save on all the hanging about to repair punctures.

And where is the best place to purchase such items.

I found that bike-components were cheapest(even after a hefty delivery charge), although I do buy a few items there to make it worthwhile. The delivery is pretty quick too considering they’re coming from Germany. You may need google translate to help with some of the descriptions but you can cross check the product reference code against conti’s website.

I like RQ black chilli myself although have MKII on my other bike
