He can ride a bike, no doubt about that but I got bored half way through. Better than his last video with the giant toys tho. Now Akrigg, I could watch over and over

Both my bikes are set up 1×10, one with 32t the other 34t and can’t say theres any noticeable difference in the chainline. However they are not fitted in the granny position. On a double the outer chainring will be better. Triple is better if you want a bash (which I have on my triple set up, but ive made do without on the double crank set up as its only a xc bike.

Ive recently bought the new 40t hope hub, and happy to say its just as noisy, if not more than the older version

always double them up now anyway. Usually do the Twrch first

similar story, broke 4 year old axle, sent email, they asked what my address was so they can send a replacement. No questions asked, no proof of purchase or even of a broken axle. Not many companies would offer the same service.

The DH is officially open and a good alternative to the xc descent, although that’s pretty good in itself too

My Hope ceramic is going strong after 4 years of constant abuse, at least 3 times a week in all kinds of weather. When they eventually die ill be getting some more.

    Expensive but hassle free

the hope ones are not even nylon faced. Theres one hub support but the rest are just aluminium presses. Anyone with a lathe could knock them up. I don’t have a lathe so I bought the Hope set- much easier than using a socket set

I have an Air 9, its light, racy but still very capable. Chucked it down the new DH at Cwmcarn the other day

Nothing too intimidating on it. My first run was on a 100mm xc hardtail and I didn’t feel too underbiked although I didn’t nail some of the jumps. Still had top 20 on strava tho 🙂

Think I’d get bored if I was doing multiple runs of it on an uplift day

Yeah, ive ridden it. Nice alternative to the cafall final descent

If you head to Cwmcarn (which is what I’d do) do the DH option at the end of Cafall instead of the XC descent!

Double up- Twrch then Cafall, around 29km.

if youre doing cwmcarn the DH option (pedalhounds) at the end of the Cafall xc loop instead of the xc descent is definitely worth a go.

Loads of singletrack (natural) stuff in that area if you prefer to stay away from trail centres. Have a look on strava but you mey benefit from someone local showing you really

    Do you mean tech 3 V4 e4?

I use a hose from Halfords, think it was the windscreen washer one, or maybe a fish tank hose, i cant remember. The smaller of the two

a rubber grommet like on the swingarm of an orange 5 for brake / gear cable

The orange five RS is drilled at the top of the downtube (facing upwards) which is where I’d like to drill but don’t think I’ll be able to get to it so my second choice is at side of downtube towards the headset end

yeah once. when checking out they asked if I slept ok, I replied saying contractors (outside not connected to the hotel) were a bit noisy at 6am and woke me up but otherwise ok. She disappeared round the back and came back with the manager and gave us a full refund. I hadn’t even considered asking for money back

Thanks for the input dai… Would i need to do that despite the car starting fine since it was jump started on sunday? Prob done over 100 miles since then.

Ill see if i can something to read the voltages. Any idea what they should be or will this be in the car manual or should i google it?

Just been down to check, battery light on when ignition on, goes off when car starts. Also checked all the fuses, the fuse box in the engine were all fine, the fuse box inside the car had one broken fuse. This fuse wasn’t listed in the car manual but should not be connected to the problem as these are fuses for interior stuff like seat heaters, blowers etc (i think).

That wasn’t directed at you dai, just typing out aloud. Posted that before i saw your post. I think the battery light is on when the ignition is on but goes off when engine is on

    creamegg

At the moment the battery is not the problem as its been fine now since we jump started it, which probably rules out some of the causes mentioned. But obviously something made it go flat its just odd that it hasn’t happened since the weekend, unless its to do with dodgy electrics. The power steering and ABS warning lights are still on and the steering does feel occasionally heavier than usual.

very grateful for your offer molgrips, and will take you up on that, ill send you an email

I just spoke to orange about drilling my five, they said it would be fine too although it may be hard to route it at the bb

Edit: my five is already out of warranty.

Yep just got home to a stealth version. If it was the 150mm version i think id be tempted to drill the frame
