Seems there’s a few more Boss riders coming out of the woodwork!

Seems a lot of love for the Bossnut!
I did consider the Boardman team as well, but as I couldn’t go up to the Pro I just went with gut.

I’ve not had any rub issues on mine, only problem was a shock issue, fixed under warranty in about 3 days!

I’m sure there will be a V3, its been too popular not to. I think there was a 2 year gap between the V1 and V2 (not counting the slight re-design due to frame rub) so would imagine the V3 will be out 2019ish. Same idea as Boardman as well.

My Bossnut is just over 12months old and I cant fault it (for what I do!).
I mainly ride trail centres with a bit of off piste thrown in where I know where it is, and it holds up fine. Could be lighter and have spent a few £££s on tyres, tubeless, dropper and pedals. Have been severely tempted to go for the V2 if I had the space (cant get rid of V1, due to c2w) as it looks much nicer in the flesh.
For the price I just cant seem to find anything ‘wrong’ with it.

Took the plunge on sealskinz to see if they’re any good. Didn’t cost loads so if they aren’t as good as I hope it’s no massive loss, but anything in terms of water protection is better than nothing for the moment!

Only during the day. Photosynthesis produces oxygen, but at night when there is not enough light, plants are aerobic the same as animals IIRC

It was YOUR CHOICE AS A COUPLE!!

Much like your choice not to negotiate for the same wages as males doing the same job?

Well, looks like I have made a decision to give Cwmcarn a try!
I do however now have a small time issue as I cant leave as early as I had planned! Have been given some work to do in the morning as a few others are on a course, so I cant leave until complete. Should hopefully be fairly quick so leave mid-morning if I’m lucky so will still get an hour or 2 depending on traffic getting there!

    Coatesy- have PM’d

Time constraints aren’t quite as bad as I make it sound.

    I’ve got about 3- 3 1/2hr drive to get there i reckon.
I had planned to work a half day and get there around 3ish (means no overtime though!), BUUUUUUUUT I could take TOIL in the afternoon. So drive up in the morning, be there around 12ish and have plenty of time.
Kinda depends a bit on the weather, or check into hotel before riding and have a quick towel off in the back of the van. Also don’t want to back too late as there’s a couple of us staying so cuts into beer-time!
Mainly, though, I could just do with something easy to make sure I ride as the last meeting trip I had a couple weeks back all my intentions went straight out the window!

Looks like I’ll be spending me evening looking at various options to make a decision and THEN working out what time to leave on Thursday to get a decent amount of ride time!

Ok, so question 2…. is it any good/worth the parking fee? (what is the parking fee?!?!)

    Cheers btw.

No jimjam, I didn’t as its a large and complex issue.

What I did do was point out that what Mike said was correct. A Gun is designed to kill people/animals, even if it can be used for sport shooting.
While I understand the sport of using guns to shoot targets, if that’s what they are used for why keep them at home?

    crazyjenkins01
    Full Member

In that case, why do they need to be kept at home if they are a hobby? Its not like a bike that would be really difficult to go on a killing spree with!!!

The 2 guns guy, while I think is daft to own any, doesn’t say ‘excessive’ to me, but 30-40 does.

The whole system needs to be looked at. If Americans can’t possibly live without a gun, as is their right with the constitution as it is, then there should be limits on what type and how many can be owned (or at least kept elsewhere than in a secure licensed property like a gun range)

    crazyjenkins01

If you’re going to convince responsible gun owners that you’re going to increase safety without infringing their rights then you’d better know exactly what you’re talking about and not say, do exactly what you just did.

Do what exactly? Point out the blindingly obvious? Guns are designed and built to kill things. Nothing more.

He’s one of them who has 30 – 40 guns at home and thousands of rounds.

    And there is the problem.
“I need to protect my family/house/keep the government in check”… ok, sure, fine buy ONE gun then. Anymore than that and you have now entered “I like to shoot guns” territory, and the ‘protection’ argument is now just noise.

So, have test drove the Grand C-Max, and the Kodiaq yesterday (without the Mrs!), got the Touran and X-Trail tomorrow, and might try and get one on a Tiguan this afternoon work permitting.

On cost, the Touran is winning by a fair amount. On ‘drive’ from the two I’ve tried so far the Kodiaq was very tasty….

    Thanks for that @craigb

Juke too small and yeti… yuck! Considering the Kia Sportage though.

Had a look online at the Ateca today and that could be an option if the Mrs likes it.

Plenty of good options, thanks guys, will be a busy day tomorrow going round the dealers to look at stuff!

    @ Jam

Not sure we’re willing to wait on the Karoq, and the Juke is now out of the picture too (one of the first cars Mrs looked at). Might seriously consider the Kodiaq depending on cost.
Didn’t think of Seat though, thanks for that.

Had a look at a Kodiaq while in the Skoda place looking at a Rapid Spaceback (no good) and might consider a test drive for one of those as well, does look a bit big though! Gonna suggest the Tiguan and see what she thinks of that as well, for while test driving the Touran on Saturday.

Would like a Octy but looking for a higher driving position.

Thanks for all the input guys!
Will be test driving a Touran next Saturday (might even be able to get a…wait for it…. brand spanking new one!)
Going to get Wednesday off and go look at some S-Max as well. Qashqai looks like its out, but might be considering a Skoda Kodiaq as the Fabia (old shape) we had previously was really good. Mrs is still keen on the Honda CR-V as well so might look at that Wedsnesday too.

Simply loved the gnusmas thread. As has been said, showed what this community is like.
A simple question turned into something magnificent for no other reason than it was the right thing to do.
And the depression thread recently showed that sometimes all is needed is a simple ‘come out for a ride with me’ to provide help when people need it.

Currently in Plympton and just had an offer accepted on a 4 bed detached in a desirable area (still in Plympton) – so, pretty much exactly what you’re after.

Didn’t realise you were moving Rich.
