    Google Hibiscus syriacus ‘Oiseau Bleu’

Oh – hollyhock – I’ve heard of that! Thanks, looks very similar.

Thanks for the replies and advice. Good to hear the general advice is that it can be done (with some effort).

I think I will go with Kona TC’s advice, except I’m going to ‘tweak’ it a little and leave windows open as much as possible – I reckon it will help the smell go better if I do that.

I’d rather smoke a dog than a cigarette.

Nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Are there any licensing issues regarding this? I guess I’ll need to run it by the council at least.

The smell of smoke isn’t going to give your child lung cancer.

I realise that, I’m unsure whether it affects asthma sufferers or can increase chances of developing asthma etc. – don’t know. I’m also asking as I don’t want a house that always has a faint smell of cigarette smoke.

Wondered whether other people had dealt with a similar situation.

Just had the same problem. Went to PC world and bought this for £59.99

Wireless laser printer, excellent. Highly recommended. The colour version for £150 tempted me but I don’t print so much and I can get a lot of pickled onions with the saving.

That seems to be what they go for (new) on eBay though. I only say this because I wondered about buying one and sticking on eBay for an easy £20-30 🙂

Is the jawbone discontinued now – renamed the racing jacket?

AH – nurse practitioners. They have in the last 2 years missed a broken jaw, a broken tibia, a broken fibula, three broken ribs, and a broken ulna just in my family.

Sounds like bad diagnoses from nurses are the least of your troubles…

Got another flint/object through my Duranos this weekend and think I’m going to buy some GP 4 Seasons and use all year. I would rather have slightly less efficient tyres and no punctures, can’t help but feel disappointed with the Duranos. 2 objects through the tyres in 3 rides.

All done! Feeling pretty tired but satisfied. Look forward to next year!

Agreed, before TrainerRoad I was doing a few a week over the winter but in a vague ‘perceived effort’ way. TrainerRoad makes it much more measurable, can’t recommend it enough. All it took to get the TrainerRoad setup was a £20 USB ANT+ dongle, already had everything else. I’d looked at it in the past and assumed I needed some £000 power meter or something.

Congratulations to MSP, going to do the final ‘stage’ in an hour or so, not looking forward to it my legs are empty.

EXCELLENT ANSWER, only the single-sided bit had occurred to me. Ta!

I was wondering today, how come MTBs don’t use SPD-SLs? Providing a bigger platform, reduce hot-spots are real and great advantages of them, so why not on MTB?

Yes Revolver was brutal, really struggled to hang on.

Done back to back by the way, anything else just isn’t cricket. Probably no point doing Local Hero tomorrow MSP, your whole tour is tainted! 😉

‘Downward Spiral’ wasn’t too bad last night, legs feeling pretty dead still. Today will be a hard day, ‘There Is No Try’ then ‘Revolver’ 🙁

    Excellent stuff.

Yeah thanks for the link but it looks a bit dodgy. Some of the shorts are from 2007 as well!

    The answer is Bob Dylan.

But Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Morrissey, Neil Young, Roger Waters and Jarvis Cocker are also good 🙂

Yeah tonight was tough. I was feeling so drained I have had a curry with extra rice for tea, and 4 cans of Guinness. Carbo-loading!

Clever, although the guy who snagged Berkshire will be disappointed if he ever bumps into the person in Cold Ash (Berkshire)!

Actually this whole Tour has been marketing excellence, think I bought about 5 more vids to do it.

Just did Angels, not too bad. Not looking forward to tomorrow, The Wretched & The Long Scream. Dreading Saturday (two full length ones!) and even Sunday is an 85min effort.

Really feeling tired now and eyes are sore from sweat!

‘A Very Dark Place’ was tough tonight, legs felt like lead.

Shattered now, just general, physical and mental fatigue…

    Still enjoying it though!

No messing with laptops on stools in cold damp garages for me

    🙁

Hell Hath No Fury at 06:15 in 2 degrees in the garage was not fun 🙁

It’s been interesting doing all these videos with TrainerRoad, i.e. with a defined power target. As a rough generalisation I would say the way I’ve always done Sufferfest videos in the past has been too low effort on the 6.5-7/10 sections, and too high on the 10/10 parts.

Given that a greater proportion of each vid is at a 7/10 type effort, doing this Tour, or rather, using TrainerRoad has got me working harder than I was before.

I’m doing it 🙂 Should be horrific. I’m going away this weekend so I’m going to have to get up at 5am on Sat. morning, do the first stage, go away and then get the second stage in late Sunday night when I return.

    Horrific…

    That doesn’t include childcare though. That’s about £900 a month 🙁

    I have one of these:

The O2 Wireless Box II (available to new O2 customers from 2008) is a rebadged Thomson SpeedTouch TG585v7, and supports Interface type 802.11b/g. It supports 13 channels (Europe Region). It supports WEP and WPA-PSK encryption.[1]

So I guess a decent, current router would improve things?

    crankman
    Free Member

If you wanted to go wireless get a decent router with 802.11n. The ones free from your ISP are next to useless. Have two SSIDs (wireless signals) and apply QoS (quality of service) to the SSIDs, wife has good service everyone else not so good.Unless you have a pretty big house with thick walls that should be OK.

Could you recommend a decent router that would allow this? Many thanks.

Canon S100 here, really recommend. Went from a Nikon D3100 DSLR to this. I know they are different beasts, just found I wasn’t using the Nikon due to its size, I think with plenty of light the Canon is pretty comparable, Nikon better in low light obviously…

Could improving (wireless) router really make much difference (genuine question)? When my other half works from home she insists on dragging a 10m ethernet cable up the stairs because she says she loses connection over wireless when hosting Webex (video conferencing)… Makes me mad. Would happily buy a new router to solve that annoyance.

Does your router have pairing mode? That often stops things connecting successfully.

Yeah, you’d have to go Elite.
