I’m running an x2 and 38 performance on my levo. And it just feels dead. had a mess about and it still doesn’t feel good, compared to the ohlins coil I had on before. I got an shockwiz to help set up, but setting that up has been a massive pain. Gave up on it in the end. Dose anybody know what the compression ratio is on a 160mm fox 38, with no tokens in, and a 55mm stroke x2 with no tokens in? I haven’t been able to find this on the web.

Yeah I’ve just ordered a second pair last week. Really nice. Still waiting on them, heard nothing yet

You want a wing nut hyper 3.0, if you can get one. It sits low on the back, the wing pockets are massive, and the bungee cords are good for jackets etc. But there’s a lot to be said for putting weight on the bike. I used one with a 8ltr bar bag when doing the 4 passes over 2 days staying in a bothy. I’ve got one going, but it needs a new zip.<span style=”-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);”>

Indeed. Ive been riding 30 years, never been the fittest. Good shape though compared to my none cycling peers. Now I can ride and keep up with my super fit mates ( won the Sam haughtiness challenge, Fred whitton challenge types) and they get the miles in at pace. Or they get a tow, and don’t have to open gates. It’s all shits and giggles, dicking about on bikes

The eBike hating is ridiculous. The only consideration when my mate’s are planning a ride without me on my Levo, is hike-a-bike. No no no. Although it has happened, and sometimes dose. Or weather or not to bring a towie. Everyone took the piss at first, but the majority have got eebs or are considering one. Getting a face on because of what Someone else is riding is a poor reflection on yourself

I’ve just bought another pair of wheels I don’t need. But at that price they can sit about until the Deemax are goosed. When I went to replace a rear rim ( crossmax XL) due to a flat spot (£100) no wheel builder would touch them without replacing all the spokes, another £120! Plus the cost of building. Not far off a new set FFS. Just need to source a HG freehub now, hope I can get one cheaper than £80. Dose anyone want a set of old pikes? Two pairs 140 or 160mm travel? My spare parts bin is getting out of hand.

I’ve just upgraded my 5SE for a 2020 SE, the old SE was okay, the battery only lasted a day. That’s the only reason I upgraded. You can get them dirt cheap now.

Fortunately you are in a small minded minority and your sweeping generalisation of ebike riders is bullshit, and you know it. Nothing is being sanitised and there are no climbing ethics in the way you get to the top, as you say. You can redline and blow out your arse climbing an ebike, just as you would on a normal bike. Except you will be climbing steeper more technical trails which you would be probably pushing up. If it’s not for you fine. But don’t wrap it up in a load sanctimonious bull shit.

Don’t know what any of that has to do with your better than you attitude to ebiking, or ebikers? And climbing  ethics? WTF is that? Bull shit
    Just saying like

I’ve been riding over 20 years, still not particularly fit or skilled/fast. I ride with people who are athletes and supremely skilled. My Levo now allows me to ride with them at their pace, and often towe them up hill. Never really enjoyed killing my legs chasing after them uphill, so I had dead legs for the main event on the way down. People who hate on ebikes need to get over themselves FFS. So what you can ride 4000ft and 50 miles on an old shed. Big deal, nobody gives a shit. Sorry to piss on your chips.

Yes ebikes allow inexperienced people to get to places they could get out of their depth. People soon learn, and we all have to start somewhere. There has always been those of a smug/self righteous attitude in MTB always will be. But the more people on bikes the better. And your fun, isn’t any better or valid than somebody else’s fun, neither is your opinion.

The price barrier to MTB, is just lack of knowledge. Simple.

I have sourced super bikes for people, from £100 to £900. Depending on what they want to do and their budget. Ebikes are expensive yes, but they are new tech. They are not a prerequisite for riding, neither is AXS, Kashima, or full suspension. The media shout’s about all this fancy kit because most riders love it, even if it is beyond our budget. You/we don’t need it. Those that look to people who are not particularly fit/ skilled/experienced on expensive bikes and hate on them are simply just jealous. It’s pathetic. It’s easy to laugh at the person who has dropped a ton on all the matching hope anodised bits, computers, lights on their S-works Levo, but really who gives a shit. They are loving it. Be nice say Hi.

Is this vote for the SNP more of a vote away from Westminster, as opposed to a vote for independence?

Check out a GMBN press fit bottom bracket video on YouTube. Technically you should use a carbon prep compound of some sort, followed  by some other assembly paste. Can’t quite remember, but its worth a watch.

Sorry for your loss, I lost my dad early January. So I’m going through a similar thing. Except my dads estate is worth about 5k, but has about 8k in debts to HMRC and a dodgy claim from Preston Council for council tax (absolute shower of ****). I have already paid out for the cremation and final services bills (about £1500) out my own pocket. The issue is now, should I get probate involved to sort out who gets the cash because there is not enough for all claims. If I do get probate involved, dose this cost come out of the estate first before it all goes to creditors? And can I take out the expenses I’ve incurred form the estate, or do the creditors get the first claim? If anybody can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated . Sorry for the slight thread highjack

Why isn’t it law for new developments to have a charging point for every car parking space. My company is in the process of building 100’s & 100’s of new flats in Manchester. But the extensive 3 story underground car park only has about 40 charging points?  I bet the other million developments are the same. Each parking bay costs £20,000, I don’t know if it more for one with a charging point.

Do all 27 EU members have to agree on Scotland’s re-entry to the EU? I thought Spain said it would veto it because of the Andora situation.

My point was, I don’t believe the opposition would have done a better job, in any way. And I stand by that. You are all entitled to your opinion, but its merely your opinion. Which means nothing to me at all. So crack on. You or nobody else knows how it would have been handled by anybody else, and comparing country to country is like comparing apples and Oranges. Its easy being a back seat driver/keyboard warrior isn’t it.

I would seam some (a bloody lot) are so blinkered and entrenched in their hate for the conservatives, that they actually feed of it. Like Labour are the saviours of the planet. I have voted every way, over the years. Red, blue, green, yellow are all idiots some more than others. Do you honestly think magic grandpa , or that mad cow Swinton would have done a better job? Bojo has not done the best, but I don’t think anybody anywhere has nailed it. Come out of your blinkered echo chamber of red mist and tone it down a bit. FFS

I’ve used anchovies in the past and found them very fiddly. Changed to Stan’s darts (I use Stan’s race) and think they are magic, I’ve used the many times now (5 in the rear tire) and the create a permeant fix. If putting a tube in though I would defiantly remove them. There not cheap either, but dam cheaper than a tyre.
