Thanks, I think one of the issues maybe that I’m not sipping when I need drink, I’m drinking quite a bit each time. My urine is usually colourless, over the past few days I’ve been paying attention to how much I’m drinking and have had around 3 litres each day. My urine has changed to somewhere between pale to bright from that chart. I’ll continue to experiment and see how I get on.

The only reason I looked into this is I wanted to start riding without my Camelbak and just a bottle for short rides, that’s when I realised just how much water I drink.

Little update on this. I got my hands on a glucose monitor, after a 9 hour fast my blood sugar measured 4.9. I then had egg on 2 piece of toast and some cookies, an hour after I did it again and it was 5.1, so appears to be normal.

Going to start drinking less water as suggested and see how I get on. I think it may just be habit!

I bought one of these in 10400mAh version (unconfirmed capacity) last year and it’s still giving great run time, I like the long shape rather than normal boxy packs, seems robust, haven’t found a uk seller but it’s cheap enough if you are not in a rush

Looks very similar to the more expensive RockBros branded ones. They seem to get good reviews –

BL2 works well on the helmet and then use a BT40s on the bars, both in neutral white (4000k)

I’ll recommend what I’m using, not all from eBay though I’m afraid –

    One of these –

    http://kaidomain.com/bike-lights-and-bike-accessories/Bike-Lights/BL2s-2-x-Cree-XM-L2-U3-White-6500K-2-Groups-of-2-to-3-Mode-2200-Lumens-Bike-Light

    Shipping took 8 days.

    This battery pack –

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fluxient-6600mAh-7-4v-8-4v-battery-for-Magicshine-Solar-Storm-Xeccon-Torchy/302924011532?hash=item4687ad980c:g:-GgAAOSwkShY9JmP:rk:1:pf:0

And a GoPro adapter and GoPro mount for the helmet, think I got the adapter from someone on here, or you can print your own if you have a 3D printer.

Thanks everyone, ended up getting a Moon Comet X from Halfords for £15.99, seems very bright and decent runtime on the lower settings.

Hmm, time to book myself in at the doctors then by the sounds of it. Thanks everyone.

Connect a laptop / PC via a network cable and see how it behaves, if all is well and it is just the WiFi then the suggestion above is perfect. Purchase a Ubiquiti wireless access point. Otherwise if you want a VDSL router with WiFi I don’t think you will get any better than what you have for £50.

Also got some off from SP, for the price I can’t complain. For general winter use there spot on.

Do they offer taster type sessions at the Velodrome? Always fancied a go…

That’s pretty cool looking, not seen them before.

Thanks everyone. I was tempted by a Phaart but the postage costs put me off, shame its £3.95 postage for a £4.99 item. The Moon Pulsar looks good to, only works out about £3 more. Hmm!

Novelty wears off fast, take mine on holiday and that’s about it now. Don’t even use it much on holiday unless I’m snorkelling etc, even then I never view the footage again really.

£500 ish, if you had off put it on eBay during summer maybe more.

Might be worth checking out the Woollybacks, they ride at Delamere and also do other rides in Cheshire. Loads of stuff at Delamere but you really need someone to show you it.

Cheers everyone. Think I’ll just get the rear one and ride in the dark!

Cheers both, is the Slack Randy route all open to the public? No private bits I take it?

Be nice to ride from the door and not have to drive somewhere.

Bump, or does anyone know any off road routes from Hoff.

Ooooh nice, image it’d take 4 weeks to arrive though

I ordered a light off Kaidomain last month, took 8 days from ordering to arriving with the free shipping.

I tried the Fluxient U2 mini for a while, single 18650 flashlight sold by Torchy. I found it to heavy and in the end went for separate light and battery pack.

    I went with this –

Bought a GoPro adapter for it off eBay and a battery pack off Torchy.

Maybe I’ve got mine assembled wrong then! Already ordered the Bonty one now anyway. Thanks everyone!

Not wanting to aggravate you (honestly not the intention) are you sure you have assembled it correctly? I have both variants (permanent cable end boss at lever and permanent end boss at seatpost) and can’t think what the problem is. If you have the ‘flappy’ lever version (stealth routing), the lever body and the clamp tessellate together really quite well. My concern is the up-and-down play in the lever when it should really only move forwards and back.

Thanks but I’m pretty sure its assembled correctly, it’s been fine for a few months and only just started having the issue. It is indeed the flappy lever version.

I’ve just ordered the Bonty one as I give up with CRC.

    Hmm, I suppose! Just annoying…

Do you mean that the lever rotates on the bar, or spins on the bar mount? I don’t have (or foresee) any problem with the lever moving as a whole – the mounting bracket has shelves and suchlike to fit the bits together?

It is a shonky bit of kit, though.

The lever spins on the bar mount, as if the bolt to attach the lever to the bar mount is loose, but it’s not. Just wish CRC would respond.

I’ve got one of these on my bars –

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nitefighter-BT40S-1600-Lumens-Cree-XP-G2-Neutral-White-LED-Bicycle-Bike-Lights/123308560509?hash=item1cb5c3507d:g:xZ4AAOSwav5as2pM

And one of these on my helmet (4000k) –

    http://kaidomain.com/bike-lights-and-bike-accessories/Bike-Lights/BL2s-2-x-Cree-XM-L2-U3-White-6500K-2-Groups-of-2-to-3-Mode-2200-Lumens-Bike-Light

Then get 2 battery packs from someone in the UK like Torchy or MTBBatteries

Be under £100 for a great set of lights and safe batteries.

LOL Tredz just have to place the order first

I was worried after reading your message but Tredz delivered my shorts within 72 hours after ordering, can’t complain! Shame they don’t fit :( Look good quality though.

It’s not just based at airports, it’s air traffic control centres, frinstance the one near me at Prestwick isn’t part of the airport, it’s there as all the transatlantic flights pass over, and that’s what they handle. It can be shifts or days, but you’ll never know at the start where you’ll be based.

Lots of people at Prestwick were given relocation allowance from darn sarf.

IIRC the money is around 18k for the training period.

So you could be based anywhere on their list of locations? Bit tricky, looks very interesting though.

NATS are begging for people to become air traffic controllers, as are ATS who do Gatwick.  NATS pay £60k after validating (takes 2-3 years of training on shit money), rising to around £100k.

The maths-y folks on our course are finding it all very easy.  I’m 38, three kids, £350k mortgage.  I’d bet you’re well placed by comparison.

    https://www.nats.aero/careers/trainee-air-traffic-controllers/

Interesting, is it shifts once your full time? Are they looking for people for all airports or just certain ones?

I don’t think you can do it without a third party adapter like this –

Thanks, ended up ordering the Madison Trail shorts, got them from Tredz with their £5 off code, £36 delivered. I’ll update this once I get them.

**Regarding my Humvee’s, I didn’t mean I ripped them, I meant the stitching, from catching it on the saddle.

Anyone using the Madison Trail shorts? They look promising, also have a liner included.
