Episode 1 was brilliant, like Top Gear at its best. Episode 2 a bit poor IMO, less car stuff and the military bit was way to long. A normal test review of the S8 would of been better.

Not sure if these are just for disposable pens, but it seems a great idea.

Just checked and it’s only for disposables, doesn’t work with cartridge refill pens. Sorry

These are similar and work with some non reusable pens

I’ve been looking into one for my girlfriend, she’s 30 and still forgets if she has had her insulin or not, 26 years of being a type 1.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I was wondering if anyone had followed getonyourbike’s workout and how you had got on?

5.10 Freerider Elements and wool socks. They’re basically a weather resistant version of the Freerider with regular panels where a non-Elements Freerider would have mesh. This helps keep the wet out, and minimises wind chill. They’re not fully proofed but once the water goes over the top of any shoe or boot, the proofing will have been defeated anyway. This is where the wool socks come in – yes, they get wet, but being wool, they’ll keep a bit of insulation.
I’ve tried sealskinz but always struggled with fit – they’re either too tight (which results in circulation problems and getting cold), or too bulky meaning my existing shoes are now too tight (leading to circulation problems and getting cold).
Warm but wet beats dry but cold any day of the week.

Same as this, Freerider Elements and some merino wool socks off eBay that people were mentioning on here. Unless you put your foot in deep water and it goes over the top of the shoe then your feet will be dry and warm.

Jewish Quarter is also good for food / drinks, Bagelmama is good for a quick snack / breakfast.

This Milkbar is a great place to go for some traditional dishes, also cheap –

I’m running that casette with a Deore mech with RAD cage, perfect shifting. Haven’t tried it without the RAD cage though as I already had it.

Cheers, would you say its better than the Solarstorm? Also would I be OK running it alongside as its neutral white, or would I just be better with a second Solarstorm?

Can anyone recommend a floody bar light to pair with a SolarStorm style helmet light? Already have a battery so just want the light unit.

If money really is tight then get the Deore. If you can easily afford XT / XTR and really want it, then get it.

@Craig24 – Would those be pyramid sets or something similar?

Do 1 or 2 warm up sets, then 3 sets of 5 reps with a heavy as you can for each exercise listed.

I also looked at StrongLifts and did do it for 3 months but with all the squatting it really had a bad effect on my cycling.

This is where I got the workout from –

Should be able to get through this in 45 mins, something I got from someone on here a while back. Its similar to Stronglifts but IMO works better for cyclists.

    Twice a week –

3×5 deadlift or back squat (alternating)
    3×5 bench press
    3×5 barbell row
    3×5 overhead press
Chin ups or pull ups (alternating)
