They are a little on the small size and quite narrow. I am normally an 8/8.5 and have a pair of 9s which fit fine. What size would you be after. I have a second immaculate set I want to sell?

I’d like to see more pics of that frame that Psychle posted. I’ve often wondered about internal hydraulic routing for the rear disc brake but couldn’t work out a suitable way of getting it past the seat post or BB.

If what CY says is right could you not pack out the cable clamp area of the Deore derailleur with a couple of small washers. This would effectively increase the lever length and therefore the throw?

Have you got someone who can drive a car for you? If so, just get a long rope and throw it over the house. Hitch it to the car and tie yourself on the other end. Drive the car away et voila.

Sweepy, where's that campsite. I'm sure that looks familiar. Somewhere in the NW of Scotland?

Dirtworker website says 5 amps so just get a 12v power supply that will cope with 5A. If it doesnt come with a plug you could wire one in.

I've just done my direct access and as simon_g says, the only part I had to take time off work for was module 2 of the test, the road ride. I didn't really see the point in doing the restricted test beacause I found riding a 500cc easier.

I did hear that they are going to change the test requirements again soon. The first change is minor and I think will be incorporated this year. When you are out on the Mod 2 test the examiner will tell you to follow directions to such and such a place rather than telling you to turn left, right etc.

I believe they are also talking about introducing another level of testing. You will still have the CBT and restricted licence but there will be an intermediate licence for mid range bikes and then the full licence. Also in order to qualify for the full licence the bike you take the test on will have to be 650cc or more.

I know of a friend who has cracked a fillet joint, but that was on his first frame building attempt. I reckon a good fillet joint is very strong but how do you know if it's good joint? That has to come down to the skill of the builder.

I think the biggest advantage to a bash set-up is that you can increase the chain tension in the gears needed for rocky downhills. I have 22-36-bash on my bike and don't miss the big ring.

That is fast…video normally slows down you riding too!

Have you seen the linked video on the side?

Honda Accord Tourer. I have the older 7th generation and its huge. Can easily fit (ie no fiddling them in the right way) 2 large bikes with wheels off in the boot, seats up and all hidden below the load cover.

I'd have to agree that Specialized have it nailed when it comes to female specific bikes. The use of narrower bars, different saddles, shorter cranks all adds up to a much better bike for smaller ladies. My ex had a small merlin which she liked, but she changed it for a specialized and it was so much better sized for her.

    Start here and exit here

A couple of tunnels, make sure you duck for the low bridges and a sling/short rope can be useful to enter the tunnel (although not necessary).

Oh right, well I'd better not tell anyone where I work then! My boss wouldn't be too happy. Actually on second thoughts. I do like it when the mobile phones don't work and you get some peace and quiet…

We have a booster installed in our office. Phones don't work at all when it's not on. No idea how much it cost though, sorry. Its not network specific either.

I imagine the hot water cylinder would have been designed with 82 degC water in mind. That is the normal standard pre-condensing boilers. Again, radiators will be rated with 82 degC flow temps. But this is only when you want the full heat output, ie cold weather. More modern systems will alter the flow temperature to the radiators depending on the outside air temperature, only reaching 82 when it is 0degC outside. at 20degC outside (if you needed heating!) 40degC would be normal.

For me the biggest advantage of 2×9 is that you can shorten the chain length and increase chain tension when in the larger ring. This means that you are in optimal gear for descending without the slack that a 3 ring setup would give you. Fewer dropped chains.

    Don't get the Intempo RDI.

I got suckered into this. It started off being quite a nice unit but then it starts doing funny stuff and not starting up properly. Read the online reviews.

What sized rotors? If they are 180mm check that is correct as they do a 183mm version too. To be honest though it sounds more like duff pads.

If you have an estate with roof rails and can position the roof bars to match the wheelbase of your bike then you can buy these[/url] and bolt them to your roof rails. Low profile when the bikes are off and lockable. I've fitted three to my bars. It's a 5 minute job to take the bars on and off and there's no additional faff with the bike carrier. The rear wheels are strapped to the bars. The only problem is you have to put the from wheels somewhere.

Paddy, the irish builder turns up at a building site looking for work. The foreman looks at him and says,

"Well, I could do with some labourers, but first you have to prove to me you know what you're on about. If you can tell me the difference between a girder and a joist you can have a job."

"Oh dats eezy" replies Paddy, "Goethe wrote faust and Joyce wrote ulysees."

Have a look here. Not sure about Mach123 but the Climax trail has a car park at the bottom. Map shown on the linked webpage.

No idea about sizing as I have the originals. They let water through but dry quick but are brilliant ifor skiing with leggings on underneath.

I would try hammering in a slightly larger torx bit in first to try and screw it out. A car towbar makes a good anvil because you can tuck it in right on the plate. :)

I was followed by a stealth car over the snake pass one night. It was mildly worrying and spooky. One minute he was right up behind my car with the lights on…then he just disapeared. It was suprisingly difficult to see him without his lights on.

What honda is it? That sounds like the Honda Happiness price to me. If its the diesel accord its a specialist job that needs a special tool. Other garages may claim to be able to do it but apperently if they don't get it right it'll wear out again in no time. Something about alighning the springs.

How much of peoples claims of increased fuel efficiency do you think could be put down to the trip computer telling them so? Can you rely on the computer after a remap or will it still be thinking its putting in the same amount of fuel from before the remap?

Oh that'd explain it. I think I got confused with "the above carpark" which I assumed meant the top level. Must read more carefully next time.

I think that you have the store entrance then a couple of trolly shelters. Then a 2 way lane runs parallel to the shop front and on the other side of that you have the rows of parking perpendicular to the shop front.

I need some milk on my way home tonight so will try and remember to have a look.

    That's good. I didn't know that one.

What about swapping the M and N keys, or taking a screen grab and using it as the desktop wallpaper after hiding the taskbar.

Standard industry protection against freezing conditions is to turn any circulation pumps on when the outside air temperature gets to about 1degC. If the return pipe water temperature to the boiler gets as low as about 10degC then turn on the heating until it reaches 50degC. Finally if the internal room temperature gets as low as 11 degC then turn on the heating until its warmed up by 3 or 4 degrees.

Its seen as cheaper to heat to protect a building then repair damage later.
