I have a Trafic and Atera strada and I like the rack. I think it’s solid and I can open both barn doors with the rack fully loaded. I did have to lower the towball to the bottom 2 holes on my towbar strut.

My folks found it on their way through. They had no idea what it was, just that it came from a bike. The cost of a new one wouldn’t cover fuel to drop it into a police station. Good shout on the Dales MTB centre.

I’ve also lost lots of front wheels in snow but I usually find them again once I’ve picked my backside up off the floor.

I really like mine. Fast up and faster down. It is heavy though. I’ve had it over 2 years and ridden it a lot. I just overhauled the rear suspension bearings and only one of them is slightly graunchy. A pleasant surprise. I have the Monarch Debonair Plus on the back and it’s very good.

I’m pretty sure that the stated standover height is wrong on the website. I haven’t measured but I certainly don’t notice it being a very high top tube.

I made this for use as a physics demonstration. It’s mesmerising trying to find the best music for it.

Hora, I’ve just picked one up from Poulton Vans. They seem to specialize in ex-motability vehicles. Motability scheme means they all have full main dealer service history and no VAT. I thought Poulton Vans were easy to deal with and they had a good choice.

Is suspect that because you are charging the car outside or at least might be then it will be a requirement to have a residual current protection (RCBO). That will probably be the reason for upgrading the consumer unit.

Does look like a stonkingly good value bike. No idea how well it rides.

You can get a Codeine 29er for £350 more with similar components. I really like mine but I’m not sure if it’s £350 better.

Have a look at Paul Sellers on Youtube. He recommends cheap chisels from Aldi (I think). The sharpening is important.

Firestarter, I’ve put some photos of my Ortleib bracket here.

My spacers are quite short but it would be easy to lengthen them to fit over a cable, or put a hole in the bracket side. These are made out of 1mm stainless sheet.

She’s made the right choice. If it’s high, she can wait for it to drop in a nice big dry bothy with firewood.

Totally agree with you. Still can’t be the nicest feeling.

Looks like Jenny is struggling with the river crossing in Fisherfield. Given recent rainfall it must be pretty deep by now.

Yes, looks like she’s taking the safe option. That must be pretty demoralising at this stage.

Yes, I’ll post some pics when I’ve done. But check out SJS, there are plenty of different options for the Thorn accessory bar. Different angles (up or down) and lengths.

Id prefer an actual box type bag to use while riding tbh

Do you have 27mm of spacers on your steerer? If you do you could try a Thorn accessory bar[/url] to fit the bag too.

If not the bracket I’m trying should work. I’m fitting it in front of the stem faceplate with some spacers, replacing the bolts with longer ones. Just need to get the longer bolts today.

Hope XC front and rear with H+S Archetypes, no issues. I think you’re correct about the drive rings D0NK.

    @McMoonter

The Arkel stuff looks really good, I like the look of the mounting system, presumably the bag is stopped from rotating by doing up the clips nice and tight.

Part of me getting the Ortlieb is tartiness as it matches my panniers

I’ve bought an ultimate 6 to have a look at the mounting options. The ortlieb mount has a couple of bolt holes either side of the logo, probably for fitting an extension piece (although the web pictures of the extension don’t look like they use them). Anyway, they’ll be perfect for bolting the clip to a bracket I’ll fabricate to fit to my stem faceplate. That way I won’t be worried about the cable damaging my carbon bars and I’ll be able to easily remove the clip when not using it.

I used a proper twin bladed chaser when I did my house. I used it in a criss/cross to cut out for the back boxes too. Worked well, and much much cleaner than an angle grinder as it has a dust extraction hood. Still very dusty work mind.

Going to put it up for sale soon if you are interested?

I have a Big Agnes SL2 which I really rate. Well made and free standing. Weighs 1.2kg and is a comfortable 2 person. It’s not a warm tent though as the inner is fully mesh.

I’m also looking at the Ultimate 6 but I have carbon bars, I don’t really want to change the bars. Is the Rixen Kaul handlebar fitting any better than Ortliebs cable version?

    a better ‘laces management system’

I agree, the red strap also wears out pretty quickly with muddy laces, not that it’s needed though.

I can’t help with MT90/91 size comparison but the MT91’s are a full 2 sizes smaller than they claim to be ime. I’m normally a 42 but have to buy 44s.

Yep there’s no software for Chromebooks, it’s all apps run through the chrome browser. There’s a reasonable amount of decent apps available but you will need an internet connection.

If you want more than just some very basic features for your office apps then Chromebook isn’t really the way forwards. That said I do like mine.

My old Kona’s (two – Dawg and Caldera) had a design where a broken hanger removed half the drive-side drop out. I always thought it was a crap design. Just make sure you have a spare hanger.

The road and mtb stuff in Shimano have different cable pull ratios.

For 10 speed you are correct but 9 speed road/mtb is the same.

Is the 11-36 cassette a 9 speed? It sounds like a more common size for a 10 speed cassette.

Not clear from the OP but was it a building site? If so speak to the main contractor (builder) etc. and report a near miss. This will have to get escalated as an H&S issue. They are legally required to record these.

Not if you combine Match and Index, that lets you do the same thing as a Vlookup but looking to the right rather than the left of the lookup column.

True but in light of this comment…

Or is this a job for the dreaded vlookup?

    Sometimes simpler is better.

Great Bernera is quite nice and we really enjoyed the iron age house, if you do go try and get there when the local curator is on site.

Some nice walks around the coast of Harris, the beaches are spectacular everywhere.

Vlookup sounds like the thing! Get learning. Just a tip, you’ll need to alter your table so that the telephone numbers are the first column.

EDIT: Actually, you could also try pivot tables. They would allow you to group all postcodes against a particular telephone number. Still sounds like you need a VLookup though.
