Not particularly obsure but both Wooden Shjips and The Black Angels get a lot of play time on my iPod.

Went out on the road iron round Skipton and Bolton Abbey. 30 miles in and unusally I started cramping. Carried on cramping for the remaining 40 miles home – was in pieces by the time I got home.

I got a Haglofs Qanir a couple of months ago. It’s fast becoming my favourite bit of kit, although the fit isn’t as tight as others suggest. Zip can be a bit fiddly too but still, great jacket.

Have a look at the thread I started a few months ago on the very subject.

    http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/talk-to-me-about-cycle-to-work-scheme

By setting up the scheme ourselves, we now have a couple of people in the scheme who have shopped around for sale bikes and then set up credit agreements with the employee concerned.

I ended up getting a Cannondale Caad8 road bike reduced from £1050 to £800. I reckon by the time I’ve finished my payments and done the final payment (which I still haven’t really decided when and how much!) it will have cost not a deal over £500.

Key to the savings is administrating the scheme in house (see Harry’s post on where to rip off the agreements from) so you can shop around for the best deals and having a management team in place who are willing to run with it. Outsourcing to one of big guns just makes it a bit of a non-starter imo.

I had a similar problem in my kitchen last year. Turned out the source of the water was a rubber washer that had perished on the dishwasher waste and was slowly dripping down the wall and running under the laminate flooring
Result was a new floor and joists – must have been like that for years.

On a stag do in Newquay many moons ago, me and 3 or 4 others were walking back to our digs about midnight and decided we should go skinny dipping. After getting out of the (very cold – honest guv) sea, we decided that as the digs were only half a mile away, we may as well walk back naked with our clothes under our arms.

When we walked in, bar was still open so, still naked, we went in and ordered a pint of the landlords finest and sat down to drink them completely in the buff.

As the rest of the guests started filtering back to the digs, we convinced them all that it was Naked Night, and one by one, the other people staying there also got naked. What followed was a very surreal 2 or 3 hours of naked drinking with complete stangers. Fair play to the landlady who took it all in good humour. Even funnier was when she told my mate he had an ugly c0ck!

The breakfast room the next morning was a weird place to be!!

It seems I’m the only one that never really got on with a 5 Spot. Its not that I didn’t like it, just didn’t like it enough. It pedalled really well, was competent enough going downhill. I suppose it was just a bit uninspiring. Was a bit high and steep to make it really good going downhill, despite fitting both/or Lyriks/Works headset. It was no more than OK tbh.

I’ve now got a Zesty which for me is just a much better bike. OK, it lacks the kudos of the Turner which I know is a bit of an attraction, and I suppose it is a bit more likely to snap in half and kill me, but I much prefer it, it climbs just as well and descends much, much better.

Yeah, saw them last weekend in Sheffield. Absolutely awesome. 3rd time I’ve seen them live and everytime I’m amazed at how good they are.

Agree with those suggesting The Music, first album was quality.

Also a bit bemused that Suede were never as big as some of the other dross that was around at the time.

True Ian, but you’re never gonna get the big guns playing Wakefield no matter how much it pricks the nostalgia.

Corn Exchange was awesome, a few top nights in there but the Arks in the old Leeds poly were better (Gary Norman – whatever happened to him??)
I’ll be reliving the old techno days in a couple of weeks at Orbit Reloaded. Should be a messy middle aged affair. Dave Angel and Huggy are playing. Be interesting to see if I can still make it through till 6am even with (ahem) assistance!

I’ve got some Tektro R540 on my road bike and swapped the stock pads out for Koolstop Salmon. Only a couple of rides in on them but so far very impressed.
