If you get really stuck, drop the distributor a line and they should be able to recommend a couple of fabricators locally (or if their feeling really generous, they might even send out one of their own technical guys to assess whether a fault of the initial fabrication and therefore warranty issue)

When I was looking for training plans when I did a marathon a couple of years ago they all looked incredibly onerous so like Al, I followed the FIRST plan.

3 times a week and every run had purpose. I started straight after a 4 month injury lay off and didnt die so it must be fine ;)

Not swapped but last April I bought a new Soul frame and built up a new bike.. Since then I’ve used it as my main bike and have only ridden my Transition Covert for bike park and Alps trips duties.

The Soul is a massively capable bike and it never feels out of its depth. In fact, if I thought I’d get decent money for it, I’d consider selling the Tranny.

Just for balance, I’ve got those bars currently sat on my car. Used them for about a year and while cheap and cheerful, perfectly functional. Maybe I’m living a charmed life but no-one has died yet.

The piper club, wonder if you can still watch strippers for 50p whilst you have your Sunday lunch

    Posted 33 minutes ago #

I spent many Sundays there when I was a student 20 years ago (Funky – sounds like we could have been there about the same time).

Glad to hear Spiders is still going strong, many good nights in there. Do they still sell Pink Pugsley’s?

Old town is pretty good for a stroll. Loving Sanny’s enthusiasm, I had an amazing 4 years at Uni in Hull – great place.

I used ABI Doors in Leeds last year for a Hormann rollamatic. Came recommended from a family member. Really pleased with the service, price wise reasonably competitive.

My wife’s aunt bought me a Jamie Oliver coffee mug. As if that’s not bad enough, it’s got the words ‘Top Mam’ all over it.
Not sure what she’s trying to tell me. She’s either confused about my gender or struggles reading.

I’m one of the fortunate ones that has a really good lbs. He’s realistic though and knows that he can’t compete on price and for most of the everyday things I don’t even try him anymore.

With the big ticket things (wheels/forks etc) I always go in and have a chat and see if he can get anywhere near the online prices. If it’s not too far away I’ll go lbs everytime.

I tend to get all my Hope gear from him though. He’s pretty much as cheap as online and I get the benefit of fitting/fettling for pretty much nowt if needed as well.

I agree with a few of the above, others I’ll have to have a listen to.

A couple that spring to mind from the last couple of years for me are

    Grizzly Bear – Shields
    Daniel Avery – Drone Logic

craigxxl seems to have it pretty much nailed.

To his list I’d also add Tingley, West Ardsley and possibly Wrenthorpe. A junction down the motorway at J28 but you’ll be travelling the opposite direction of rush hour each day to J27.

Brush the worst off when I get back to the pub after a ride and sling it on the roof. Clean/lube chain with Rock n Roll when I get home.

It needs to be proper filthy before I consider getting a bucket out, I reckon twice a year at best.

if you just want to get rid of the 0 then the easiest way would be to use the find and replace.

Highlight the cells, then Find 0, replace with <blank>

Not sure I’m helping but I’m 5’10 on a medium 27.5 Soul – fits perfect.

I think the correct answer is drop Cotic a line

If you get Corian (or any of the other similar type of products – Hanex etc) it will scratch – that’s a gimme. That’s why until recently none of the darker colours were approved for kitchen use as they showed all the white marks.

Recently, however, Corian have released what they call ‘Deep Colour Technology’ which basically means that while it will still scratch, it scratches darker so you can’t see them. With a bit of care, however, it will clean up like new and can last years.

If installed properly (and there are some not so good fitters out there) the joints will be difficult to spot giving a really good finish.

If the worktop does get damaged in any way, it can be repaired with whole sections being able to removed and replaced with new sections if necessary.

IMO, it’s no better/worse than granite/silestone, just different.

If you do go down the Corian route, take your time researching the fabricator as this can make the difference between a good job that’ll last years and a shabby one which you’ll never be happy with.

I work with Corian on a daily basis and have Granite worktops btw.

Not had any recently but wheel building is where they built their reputation.

All the ones I’ve had have been very good. In fact, I’ve still got a 717 on an XT hub sat in the garage from 11 years ago that’s straight and true.

Not sure about the Stans valves but can’t imagine they wouldn’t work.

    I use these on mine

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mountain-Bike-Road-Bike-Presta-Tubeless-Valves-Blue-For-No-Tubes-conversion-/261983935520?hash=item3cff759c20

I’d have thought any tubeless valve would do the trick.

grip, mostly, is about your technique.

different pedals may feel different, but by and large they’ve all got more than enough *grip*.

no-one can tell you which pedals you’ll like the feel of, it’s like saddle choice idnit.

If you’re just testing the water, get a pair of these for £33

    http://www.carboncycles.cc/?s=0&c=84&p=940

and use an old pair of skate shoes.

Spending circa £80-£100 on a pair of mtb specific flat shoes is a bit overkill imo, especially if you’re just trying it out. Only real difference for me is the stiffer soles which can make a difference over longer rides (currently using some AM41’s with decimated soles!)

Recently finished Domestique by Charly Wegelius. Really enjoyed it, quite an interesting insight into the life a pro cyclist who isn’t one of the superstars of the team.

Currently about 3/4 way through The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. A bit slow going in parts but very well written. I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve finished but I think I’m enjoying it although some days I can’t be sure.

Me and a couple of mates were riding down Keeper Lane the other week. Half way down and loads of horses so we jumped the wall on what I think was the bottom half of the Tong DH. If it was it was pretty bobbins tbh, the descent down Keeper Lane is better IMO.

As others have said, the land is primarily used for 4×4 and notoriously holds water towards the bottom so I’m struggling to see how it can be sustainable – happy to be proved wrong though, and with it being on my doorstep, hope they can make a go of it too.

I went the other way 4 or 5 years ago. After years of using spuds I thought I’d give flats a try and now that’s all I use.

In terms of performance, at my level anyway (and I reckon that of most), it makes not a bit of difference. Unless you’re chasing podium places it’s all about preference innit.

I’m about 11.5 stone and run 100 rear, 90 front in my 23c’s.

I have applied neither science nor logic as to whether this is right or wrong. I’ve randomly stuck some air in and it kind of works for me.

This thread has, however, got me wondering whether I’ve got too much air in my tyres.
