Test rides are important but £50 ffs! Wonder how many car dealers would get away with charging for test drives and stop in business.
My not so lbs did free test rides and let me take them away for long weekends with no drama. It certainly swayed me to buy from them.

Notice a few on here with lyriks on. Been toying with idea of replacing the pikes on my 2008 frame with some.

What are peoples opinions? Does it affect the handling too much with the higher front end and bb?

Was thinking of running at 140 for general duties and winding em out for uplift days/ alpine forays etc.

2 of the guys I ride with are ginger and they get the p!ss ripped on a regular basis. Quite right too in my opinion, although I'd draw the line at saying that they were loved by Santa and tescos should quite rightly be chastised for those cards.

And before reading this thread I always thought Freeriding was not paying for leaving your car in a trail centre carpark. ;)

What Jim said. Did the same swap about a year ago, no regrets.

Halifax require an original receipt or valuation dated prior to any claim. Get yourself down your lbs, you may be surprised what they value it at, I know I was.

Ordered mine end of September and they have finally conceded that they may have gone 'missing'.
Offered to re-send but if stock is all out then I may as well make do with the old Lumi halogens for another winter – clocks will have gone forward before i finally get them!!

At that price I'd want it to come with an engine……….

Lows – cracking my full sus frame and having to ride the hardtail for 3 months whilst I waited for replacement.

Bombers have had loads of reliability issues since they shipped production out east.
Seems like they have tried to over complicate things and have had loads of problems as a result. Whats wrong with fixed coil travel, eta and rebound? Not sure I use anything else?
not sure what the current crop are like but iirc they are now offering a 3 year warranty to try and instill confidence once more.
btw, I've got some 04 Marathons and they are the best fork I have ridden. 1 set of seals and 2 oil changes – perfect.

I've used them in the past – initially very good. However, don't last that long and end up with the worst chainsuck you could imagine.

Ended up using Deore middle and granny ever since. Cheap as chips and last 3 times as long.

Maybe a better 130mm fork is the answer. 69 degrees isn't that steep.

    Ordered a Bastid 25/9 – still waiting.
DX customer service being worse than average up to press.

Ordered mine 25th sep, shipped 6th oct and still not here.
Advice from dx is to sit tight and wait.
As you can imagine, I am currently awaiting a refund.

If the floats do make it feel a bit odd, you can always reduce the travel to 120 or 100mm

For those with the king, how easy is the regreasing?
Justbought one for the new build – looks very durable and far better sealed in comparison to the shimano offerings btw

Very expensive and require more maintenance than a comparable hardtail with a fat rear tyre.
